I'm going to call a new HomePod within the next 2 weeks. Multiple locations are showing "out of stock" even though they aren't yet out of stock on store shelves. Something is up, and I think we'll have new ones soon.

Very disappointed in the AirPods "3" delay. Really wanted water resistance and grey or matte black color.

Bought anyway because I really need wireless headphones for running, but a bit disappointed.

What, you moved from Android to iOS because of a Wireless charging pad Apple said they would release? That's a heck of a jump just for a pad.

There are other wireless charging solutions. Have I missed something here... Why rely on Apple's solution when others work just as well, if not better.

For example, I bought this (I don't have AirPods, but I've just ordered the new ones) and it's better than a flat pad because I can use nightstand mode on my watch, I can snooze my alarm without picking up my phone. I can tap my bedside table to see the time. With what Apple is promising, none of this is possible because it's all flat on my night stand.

Just saying, there are other options out there that work just as well. Or have I missed something?

I didn’t change because of the wireless charging. Lack of wireless charging was keeping me from coming back because I use the feature so frequently. I have a stand up Qi charger, the Samsung fast charger, and I don’t really like it as much as the flat Samsung chargers. That is mostly preference. The solution now is a mess of cables and clutter. What I don’t want is three wireless chargers on my desk in addition to the cables. I like the Belkin you shared, but it’s missing room for my AirPods. I also have my iPads and pencil (version 1) to charge as well as my kindle, 3DS, and travel battery. Anything that reduces clutter on my desk is welcome.

I still think we are getting iPods and AirPower on Thursday and Friday. Guess we will see.
Just occurred to me that maybe, just maybe, tomorrow will be updated iPods with wireless charging and then AirPower on Friday to wrap it all up.

No one can find any references to the new iPods in any iOS beta so probably a long shot but wouldn't that be something?

Apples PR department messed up! The chip is a second generation of the W1 hence it's a W2 not H1 chip. Unless it offers something more here that hints on the letter change. H for health?

H stands for "Hey Siri"

AirPower sucks. It's worse than a wired charger. How? Because you can't pick up your phone/air pods/watch without the device's stop getting a charge. When I pick up a phone that's being charged with a wired charger, as long as I don't unplug it, it keeps charging. I can use my phone in bed overnight and it won't stop charging when I do so.
So your point is that ALL wireless charging sucks.

If the new AirPods look the same as the old AirPods, how are people with old AirPods supposed to know that I'm better than them when I buy the new AirPods?
Some people actually think that way. They're young or stupid.

So much hype for a charger.. It's just a charger you guys!!

Sometimes it's best to mobilize the masses with nonsense.

So they really couldn't figure out how to make AirPower work. lol. Dead Before Arrival.

I don't see where the article states that, or any source for that matter.

So you've used AirPower long enough to know that it sucks.

Samsung apparently has you guys answer to the none to come Airpower with the currently available Samsung wireless charging Duo Pad.

Online inventory and store inventory are not always one and the same.

You may want to review the specs for AirPower because you seem to have confused the similarities between AirPower and Samsung's "equivalent."

Obvious you never used a wireless charging dock or whatever.
You can put your phone back on it after the call.

Well obviously the same way people know you’re vegan. You tell them. Without them even asking
Hilarious reply.

I'm pretty sure I saw some other company that has a Qi charger with two or three charging areas. Will probably get that if no AirPower by Monday evening. Not sure how they could figure it out but Apple couldn't. Maybe the charging zones don't overlap as much, but it's still better than nothing.
With the others you have to place your phone on the right spot. With the Airpower you don’t.
Clueless some are.

Meanwhile IKEA has this for years

[doublepost=1553108197][/doublepost]Hey Siri is the most annoying thing  have done. It’s ridiculous. I’d rather tap twice on my erabuds.

There's more and more people throwing their "air"-charger away because it doesn't perform well.
Direct loading just goes faster.
And a cable is flexible.

I guess Apple finally rejected Airpower stuff.

There are positives and negatives with both solutions. I replaced my Lightning dock at my office desk with a wireless charger and I much prefer to have the wireless one. Every time I put down my phone it's charging. There is no more need to do decide if I want to charge it or not. It's completely natural for me to simply lay it down onto the wireless charger. It's it natural resting place and it charges why it's resting there resulting in me pretty much never dropping below 80% charge at any time during my working hours.

With the lightning dock I had to remember to put it onto the charger in order for it to charge, so there could be occasions where I simply forgot or didn't really pay attention to the battery life and suddenly you have to leave the office and your phone has only 15% battery left. This never happens to me after switching to the wireless charger.

And as a result of the phone automatically charging while not in use, I'm never really in any situations where I would want or have to charge and use my phone at the same time.

Another positive is that QI is a open and embraced charging standard, so it's actually usable by others in the office if they need to use it no matter if they use iPhone or Android unless they have a phone without wireless charging but most have it these days.

The only annoying thing for me is how I can't charge the AirPods without lightning, but the new wireless charging case will make it possible to use my wireless charger for my AirPods as well.

Another thing I really love with the AirPower is how one wall-socket will let me charge all my three primary devices (besides my MacBook Pro). It's one wall-socket to AirPower and I can drop my iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch onto the device, I can even charge all three at once. Seems really convenient to me, I will most likely get one for my home desk and my office desk.

I actually replaced my Apple 29W USB-C Power Delivery charges with wireless chargers for the most part. So I went from the fastest possible charging on my iPhone Xs Max to the slowest as I'm using a 5w and not a 7,5w wireless charger and guess what the charging times are not really all that comparable.

Sure the USB-C PD did charger waaaay faster and it's really convenient. But when I'm not using my phone guess where I put it down by default? On the wireless charger. What does this result into? It's pretty much charging all the time while I'm at my desk and not using my phone by default. So each and every time I pick it up it's ever below 80% charger.

This just eliminates the need for fast charging for me. Fast charging is really neat for those situations where I'm really low on battery life and need to get a good charge in a short time frame. But as having the wireless charger pretty much eliminates all those situations where I had low battery life the need for those fast charging times just doesn't exists for me anymore.

I'm not all that convinced about fast charging being all that healthy for the battery either? I noticed that USB-C PD charging would make my battery crazy hot. Same goes for my colleges Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and Samsung's Rapid Charge. And when comparing my Phone X from 2017 where I used only USB-C PD charging, to my iPhone Xs Max where I've used only wireless charging the battery health was down to 93% on my iPhone X at this point in time while my iPhone Xs Max is still on 100%. You can't really compare them like this, but as high variation in temperature is one of the easiest way to cause tear and wear on a battery I have a hard time trusting that these fast charging solutions is healthy for the battery health in the long run.
