Looks like you just need to set the disc number/count and track number/count meta data correctly.

As I said, it is set correctly, Everything in that shot has the correct disc information, and sorts correctly in "List" view.

when looking at the albums with the coloured background I find that the blurring around the album cover is a bit aggressive. I think it would be better with a definite line border around the album cover rather than blurring.

I agree. If I were a record company, I'd be complaining to Apple that the feathering/fading (whatever you call it) into the sides of the album cover art is excessive. It is not the art director's intent to have the cover distorted like that.

It's like a kid still having fun with the obvious Photoshop gradients. It's too much. Sharp edge for the album covers please.

I like the way the background color and font color in that expanded view is color matched to the album cover though. So, they're headed in the right direction. They just need to lessen or eliminate the excessive blurring of the edge of the album.

Okay, I have a question, & I'd rather you CoverFlow-hatin' folks not jump down my proverbial throat because I'm asking it. I understand you don't like it, & never did, & are very very glad it's gone, but some of us actually dug it a lot & I'm sorry if our enjoyment of it offends you in some way, but I really like(d) looking it over whilst I as drawing in my studio & had iTunes on shuffle. Whew.
Anyway, my simple question is thus- Do any of you more knowledgable folks than me about such things know if there is actually a chance of it being returned at some point in an update or as an add-on? & if not, & I decide I truly miss it enough, is it possible to revert to 10.whatever-that-last-number was?
Thanks so much!
(Let the CoverFlow bile erupt in 3...2..1)

Are the new custom options per podcast for downloading and keeping new to 11 or have they been there and I missed it? Either way, great feature and I'm glad to finally see it.

Radio titles don't update on mini player...

You have to maximize and then minimize again for song titles to update...

This. It really surprised me to see such an aggressive, amateurish looking fade going on. This is a billion dollar company and the art team decided this was the proper aesthetic?

Sooooo glad the cover flow is gone!!! It never grew on me anyway... And yeah iTunes 11 is nicer, simpler and definitely snappier;)

for me it's really laggy

i hope updates in the future help things. on my retina display it's suuuuper slow to scroll, but after they updated Safari for retina it's my fastest browser, so I've got my fingers crossed that optimization is coming soon

Since this update the audio is skipping in my music. This is even in music purchased from iTunes. I'm on a Retina Macbook Pro, and OS X 10.8.2. Anybody else experiencing this?

I've experienced a few very brief skips, like a buffer can't keep up, or the CPU is momentarily overwhelmed or something.

But I thought that was mainly due to being booted off an external FW400 drive I use for testing new software. I never commit to updates until I can test them first, especially with apps that are hard to revert like iTunes.

Since update itunes keeps asking me if I want to allow incoming network connection

After iTunes upgrade being asked to allow incoming permissions every time. Why?
The firewall settings are green allowing incoming connections to iTunes but I still get prompted every time I open it since upgrading yesterday. Any suggestions besides deleting and reinstalling iTunes? Would negating it out of Firewall Options and reopening iTunes add in the correct permission?

Works Great

I absolutely love the new update. Everything is visually cleaner and I've been using "Up Next" all day. I can easily pick 20 of my favorite songs and whip up a quick playlist to listen to for the night. Solid job, :apple:.

Ok no one is talking about this and maybe I'm just a gigantic geek, BUT iTunes U sucks. It's great if you have a course with just a few lectures (first pic) or something light maybe, but if you have several sources with well over 100 lectures, it's really aggravating to see such large, non-descriptive rows when in the "Courses" view (second pic). Now I could just use the list view (third pic) so I can actually see track number, disk number (which I use to separate chapters, sections, etc.), and grouping, but it auto-expands each course automatically anytime you switch between views. The list view also displays all courses together. it was just easier before and now it's a overly flashy mess. ugh, I guess I could try relabeling the media as podcasts again. dammit apple could you freaking decide how the f iTunes U should work?

I'd say completely eliminate it.

On some album covers it's not that noticeable, on others it cuts off words and looks bad.

Seems that iTunes 11 no longer automatically remove apps in your iPhone
, that was manually deleted from iTunes app library. You delete an app (that also exist in your iPhone) from iTunes app library and perform a sync, you would get a prompt asking if you want to copy the deleted apps back to your iTunes app library, if you click 'no', iTunes 10 will removed the app from your iPhone automatically, but this doesn't happen in iTunes 11, have to manually delete them in iPhone. Wonder if this is deliberate or a bug???

It sounds like there are some bugs or oversights here or there, but iTunes 11 is actually the first time in a long time that a major update by Apple gives me confidence that they're moving in the right direction. Navigation is simplified and the look is more elegant: I really like the pull-down in the upper left to switch media types. The fact that the red/yellow/green buttons now work like other applications is a very welcome change. Additional features like "up next" are useful.

iTunes no longer feels like a clunky mess to me. Hopefully they will continue to tweak and improve things.

Update ATV and it should appear! :D

Probably as the ATV was updated exactly during that time (and what nearly took one hour).

But to be honest I'm not quite sure if you're right - I randomly had this issue using the iTunes 10.X versions too and it did drive me crazy. My iPhone is always able to detect my ATV using airplay...

Update iTunes and everything was working great but found my first hiccup. Tried to add some new music and it just freezes. Super annoying right now as I can't seem to add any music!

One of the big changes in iTunes 11 was missed.
The colour is back in the sidebar icons. This makes me very happy indeed.

The bad? iTunes DJ from iTunes 10 or whatever it was, the cool special random playlist thingy, is gone. it's just a standard playlist for me with whatever tracks was in the list at the time. None of the random options are there anymore

iTunes 10 (windows version) has a few things that have been annoying me.

1) It does that "determining gapless playback information" on the same several hundred songs every time I open iTunes. Never did figure out what's going there.

2) Does a genius sync on the same songs (different songs from #1) every time I plug in my iphone (had to turn off Genius and turn it back on to stop that).

3) Sometimes doesn't sync everything to the phone. I get a message on the iPhone saying X items haven't synced, and to check iTunes, which doesn't say anything about what didn't sync.

4) Capacity bar shows general categories of things on the iPhone, but doesn't really say what's taking up the space without a lot of digging (I still don't know what "Other" is for example). On iOS 6 now, you can go into the Usage area and get a lot of good info which helps substantially. But it's weird that you can't do that in iTunes.

Anyone run into those four items with iTunes 11? I'm curious if it's been fixed/changed. Thanks.

Just did a test upgrade to iTunes 11 on a spare machine, and I'm glad I didn't do it on my real machine, as I'm not impressed by some of the changes.

I normally shuffle my music, so I have iTunes on the "Album List" view, and I have this displaying the play count, and last play date. The only way I can do this in iTunes 11 is to use the song view, which doesn't display the artwork. This seems a step back in my opinion.

The new Album view may look very nice, but it seems you have to click on each album to display it, and you can't customise it to display play counts and so on.

It seems a lot of people like this upgrade, and I've no desire to argue with them, but for me, I don't like the changes, and will be sticking with iTunes 10.
