Larger display, same features, null effort in design shape. Anyone to “upgrade” from S6?.
For me, it would be my first AW. For others who have a S6, the redesign may be enough reason to upgrade (it’s more than enough reason for people to upgrade their iPhones).

If they also manage to remove more of the bezel, it should help create a much more streamlined look than the current bulbous model.

The bands will work. But will they still fit, specifically the loop bands that are non-adjustable. Or will the bigger case make them looser?

Since this means the case will be going up 1 mm, and the rumors suggest smaller bezels, that means the display could be getting significantly bigger, which is a really really good thing.

I would like to have a green Apple Watch but I think I would be concerned with it clashing with my clothes. Neutral colors for the Apple Watch makes much more sense to me.

Unless it ends up being round faced or incredibly good looking/different I’m content with my older 44mm.

I might finally upgrade my Apple Watch Series 1!. I will likely go AW7 41MM or the AW SE in 42MM, depending on prices. Either will be a substantial upgrade for me, and hopefully give me another 5 years of service like my Series 1 has.
Dude,
You are so far overdue, the library gave up on the fine ever being paid. Get with the program already. :p

These are going to look great, finally a meaningful aesthetic update to the Apple Watch. My bet is they are going to sell very well, larger case size combined with smaller bezels and a bigger screen, this is going to make for a very sharp looking watch and is going to be the most functional Watch yet!

The comments brought to mind a 1966 advertising slogan for Benson & Hedges 100 cigarettes: "A silly millimeter longer!" I'm sure that I'm one of the few on the forum that was even ALIVE in the 60s.
I was alive back in those days of cigarette ads on TV. I guess the ad agencies knew what they were doing because I can still remember a lot of those slogans nearly 60 years later, including the lyrics to the Virginia Slims song. Ugh! 😮‍💨

The combination of straight sided case + 1mm bigger case + potentially smaller bezels on the screen itself could make for a nice increase in screen real estate on the smaller watch!

I'm not sure I like the idea of wearing something that is larger on the wrist. Yeah it's only 1 mm, but if they keep growing each year, than 5 years from now you might as well get an Iphone holder for the arm and use that. There are times when I do find the watch a little uncomfortable, specifically later in the day.

Wrong. America's fat will continue to grow with the watches.

Well I was alive in the 40s......and I really love my cellphone, :apple:watch, on my wrist.

1MM more? That’s it?

Bigger screen is always good. I just hope Apple can introduce appealing Apple Watch colors this time.
Right?! Unless it’s the casing itself getting 1mm wider it doesn’t make sense not even to really increase battery size for life. I call bs on this rumor.
Lets start 1mm memes ;)
LOL - you go first - bet!
I wouldn’t be so sure, I expect Apple will have two watches available (not this year, but perhaps at some point). There will be one with the standard band fitting and then a higher end one with a new band. They’ll phase out the old band after a few years.
Apple for 2020-2021 already has two phones. 3 actually.
Hermes/Edition (sapphire + SS/Gold/Ceramic)
Sport/Nike (aluminum, Ion-X + colours)
SE - low cost edition.

you most likely mean 2 case sixes and watch bands suited to fit.

I’m hoping for a 45/52 mm case design. Bringing significant battery storage/life improvements without sacrificing features and with super efficient S-series SoC to cope.

within 2yrs we may see the 5 day Apple Watch battery life. Apple killed the ultra portable laptop with M1 low consumption for TDP so I’m sure their engineers have learned leaps and bounds working with TSMC on the M1
