Isn't the first question that should be answered / asked is... What can this do, that laptops or an iPad Air can't already do?

I fail to see a purpose unless it's trying to compete against the Surface 3 (thus combining iPad with some functions of a laptop, as in size).

*sigh*

I guess we'll have to learn to live with the "will it bend" "joke" with every Apple-related news item in the coming weeks. :(

Oh well. At least nobody's asking if Safari runs snappier on it.

Weeks? These people are still adding "gate" to every issue years later. I can't believe the term "bendgate" made it to news sites. The term gate has nothing to do with the phone bending...

I'd like to call it fake, but then again, every stupid rumor came true in the last keynote. An iWatch that will never do anything useful. An iPhablet that will bend from just wearing it in a pocket. New Apple products are increasingly unreasonable. So why not build a tablet that's too big to be a tablet and too small to be a laptop? Sure it wouldn't work for anything, but that doesn't stop the new Apple. I say it's confirmed. Huge tablets here we come.

Please don't make this just a bigger version on the 9.7". At least put some thought into it.

I sure hope they do put some more innovation into it. The split screen multitasking must happen with this device, otherswise the retail space of the screen will not be living up to its potential.

Is this a really old joke, or am I missing something of recent times with Safari...?

Old joke. Every update for IOS someone will say Safari is snappier now. Got to be it's own thing now....lol

No Excuse for 1Gig

If they follow along with the concept of the iPad Air A7, the RAM will not be in the package of the CPU. It will be next to it. This means they can easily add more RAM and allow the CPU to run at faster speeds longer before it overheats and throttles back.

If it's just a bigger screen I don't get what the point is unless there are going to be software changes that make it worthwhile.

i will probably get flamed for this on here but its useless if they wont re-design iOS to take full advantage of bigger screens with adjusted features in the future.

I was going to say the same thing. They haven't even optimized iOS for the 7.9" and 9.7" iPads. I can't even imagine how bad a 12.9" version would be.

This is getting absurd! If you include iPod touch that makes four sizes, and the iPhone 5/6/6+ fill the gaps in between those sizes

What is the point!?*

*obviously its money

Apple's iPhone Air 2 will be made of bend-backable liquidmetal.

I think the "Pro" naming is genius... everyone wants to be a "pro".

If this thing has more RAM, I'm in. I just sick of the safari tabs reloading when I am browsing on the couch in the evening. Increased processing and graphical power would be a welcome plus as well.
