I generally put a cover on my phone so the color is not really important to me. I just always buy whichever comes with the black glass as I do not like the white glass look on the front. Having said that, I actually have the deep blue apple cover for my iphone 6s and think it is a great color. Apple should definitely have more color -- people do make choices based on color so why not give them more choices. Hell, I may even go with a naked phone if they give me a cool color to sport.

Fantastic. A darker black would be awesome . Hope the ironed out the kinks on the previous scuffing of the IPhone 5 black

Innovating the heck of out these colors.

I miss the slate iPhone 5. I have an ugly space gray 5S because i found a better deal with another carrier and they only had the 5S. They should really go back to the slate, even with the bronze scratch marks that I never ran into I'd still buy it.

Good, that space grey color is more silver than grey, would love to see them go towards current iPod Touch black rather than iPhone 5s black.

What's the way to let people you have the new iPhone if it looks similar to its predecessor? A new colour. Black or dark blue, either one would be fine with me.

The black iPhone 5 was always my favorite color because it was more of a slate. It would definitely look more blue in certain lighting conditions. So that makes sense—ESPECIALLY if it's a little lighter than the iPhone 5. I just hope that they've found a way to make the anodization process more scratch resistant as that was more of an issue on the iPhone 5. I always figured they lightened up the tone because of that, and hoped that they would someday switch to Liquidmetal as I think that can be impregnated with pigment, making it black throughout the metal itself and thus resistant to coating scratches. It also makes sense that they would switch up some of the colors since the design isn't significantly changing. How else will people know you've got the newest iPhone? :D /s

That never stopped Apple from releasing "S"-type updates in the exact same colors. Letting people know that you have the new iPhone is actually pretty shallow.

With all this talk about Black, Blue, Gold, White, etc., I can't help but think of that stupid dress photo that was going around the internet months back. Is it black & blue or white and gold?

I love my gold iPhone 6, and will probably get the gold 7 (if available), but if a truly black option is available, I'll consider going back to what I had on my 5. But I'm not going to give it too much thought until I see the keynote that shows everyone what colors are actually going to be available.

Wasn't the first iPad Mini like this? I think they called it Slate. I like the darker Space Gray. Looks so much better.

Space grey has gotten way too light for my taste, personally - much prefer the old iPhone 5 darker shade.
