At least this bump would act as a stand! LOL!

If they’re going to make the bezels any thinner they’re going to have to include some sort of global palm detection. I can’t be the only one that keeps hitting things with the edge of my hand. Youtube seems to be the worst with it, if I adjust my grip or try to use the phone one-handed it hits a recommended video. I almost want to start using a case just for this reason (this is with a 14 PM)

Improved cameras have become an expectation so we're stuck with a large bump that'll probably get bigger.
I think it's because it's the only spec they can reliably improve year over year. At this point the processor is fast enough, the screen resolution is enough, the wireless radios are fast enough. They've got to have some tangible benefit with each release to entice people into upgrading.

So the camera bump is now almost as thick as the phone.

The thing is, I might be okay with that if I thought the cameras were actually getting better, but the over-processing is making photos look worse than what I took with my 11 Pro Max. You can make the camera bump five times thicker than the phone. It won't change the fact that photos often look better without all this ridiculous processing (evidenced by the fact that when I have RAW on, I'm often more pleased with the results). The cameras are capable, but the way the phone thinks you want photos to look is often off the mark. And let us turn HDR off, like you used to be able to.

Otherwise, I agree that the camera is really the only feature that can be "improved" anymore, so they'll keep making it thicker. Wish they would get rid of those flat sides already, though. I'm down for the rounded iPhone X/XS/11 look to come back.

If the regular 15 has ProMotion, I might very go for it because it will most likely be thinner and lighter.

I hope they don't stop until it becomes the iBump Camera with a little phone hanging off the side. Remember the Mac Cube? I want the Camera Cube. Just chuck it into the air and it takes a photo in every direction 8mm to 800mm focal length.

Maybe they will invent a flip phone?
