I'm interested in an iPad to take some of the workload off my 2007 MBP like email and web surfing etc. Can't afford a new MBP right now. I use it for graphic design, photo & video projects. So if I can extend the life of it, and use an iPad to fill gaps it will help for now.

I heard that every email you send knocks 1.3 seconds off the projected lifespan of the MBP. Seriously.

;)

Or at least post the track record for the analyst instead of just the copy and paste hand-waving. These delay rumors were obviously fabricated out of some analyst's rear.

I hope they're delayed !!

Enough of the iPhone and iPad, this year it's: "back to the Mac", remember ?

Even though I love these products, I sure think it's good to have less of it for a time, otherwise it sounds like hypocrisis that people shout: "Apple, you're abandoning the Mac" for like, 2 years straight, and now that Steve Jobs in person says that they're going to concentrate on the Mac this year, everybody's focusing on the iPhone and on the iPad. There still has been more (exclusively ?) news on these two products since the New year than anything on the Mac (except when rumors of new MacBook Pro coming rose)...
It kind of makes me sad. :(

The iPhone and the iPad focus too much attention on this website, in my opinion.

There is always a bevy of random and inaccurate rumors before the annual stockholders meeting which is tomorrow at 10 am.

The fact is the following products are imminent:

Mac Book Pro refresh
i Mac refresh
i Pad refresh
Mac Mini refresh

The following products are due for refresh in September:

i Pod
Mac Book
i newthing

Tomorrow will have as little said as practical, since each and every stockholder is not just happy, but elated. UPOD.

Rocketman

I'll bet these moron analysts are shorting the stock, spreading a negative rumor, then profiting off of the subsequent price dip.

I know this is a rumor site so MR is only doing it's job when reporting about delays. However does every bit of info from these so called analyst need to be front page news? The whole iPad delay info came from some source no one has even heard of and yet there it is on the front page. These things need to be placed on page 2 until a more credible source can back it up.
Very agreed.

Yeah right!

Just seems a lot easier to email and browse the web on an iPad. Rather than make room on the table for the MBP, flip open the screen and plug in my laptop each time.

Lol, i was already thinking about not waiting the iphone 5 and buying instead the Sammy Galaxy SII. Well we will see if this is true.

Analysts don't know squat

These analysts don't know anything. They create these stories because, unfortunately, they are actually paid by their employers. First, how can the iPad 2 be delayed without having in the past, Apple stating as a fact that the iPad 2 is due on a specific date?

Just stop the nonsense.

A missing dirty black sock, lost months ago and collecting dust by the hour and now housing a small family of spiders in an unseen location can provide better analysis than most analysts.

Analysts have no incentive to espouse anything other than what other analysts are prognosticating and are best ignored.

I seriously think MR and Appleinsider should chill the heck out. They are, IMHO, trying to manipulate the Apple stock. They know damn well those Apple stock holders read every freaking thing abut Apple. they Get excited one minute and buy up stock when they hear of a certain kick-a**(rumored) feature on what ever product, then dump the effing stock when the rumor(jesus!) doesn't pan out. Man oh man.
Or this is just a business practice to cause people to click around their site for their advertisers.

Why can't Apple be normal and show new "soon to be released" products at trade shows also?

Because they are special?

Because Apple wants to give an impression that they are special - and right now, they are special - by not mixing their product announcements with others'. Others have to use all the trade shows they can find in order to create that big buzz. Apple doesn't need that for now.

I dont get why people believe rumors(which they are called rumors for a reason they are lies) over you when you tell them the truth.
