Well, as many people here that would call BS, I say it makes sense. Like you said, the phones wouldn't just BE THERE dropped in your face on launch day, knowing absolutley nothing about new features and so on.

Yes or No question for you then. 3.2mp/5mp camera in the next one?

I can't give you the specs but read between the line. 2 Versions + Prototypes.

The camera quality isnt much better than what we have now but still better. I hope that somewhat answers your question.

So, what you are saying is that there will be 2 versions introduced? How do you know they will release both and not just one? (the other one made for developmental purposes).

I didn't say 2 versions will be introduced. All I can say is that there are more than 2 versions for testing.

These claims seem dubious.

We have all seen the 3.2 megapixel camera rumors, as well as the 2 model rumors.

You are being intentionally vague, aka covering all your bases.

This says to me, that you saw 2 distinct versions of the phone and prototype. If they weren't going to release one of the "versions" wouldn't that make it a prototype?

I understand you are being vague cause if you have handled these it would be a big no-no to spill the beans.

What you should do is put your neck out there and reveal some detail, however small and unremarkable, so we can know whether your telling the truth or not, come June/July. Hey, tell us it is metal, or tell us about the bezel around the screen, something you would know from handling the device that we can hold you to come the release.

Beyond that, revealing that you have seen them without least bit of evidence is due to the internets most prevalent disease, the aptly named "I know something you dont know" -itis.

I understand that your skeptical and if I were you, I would feel the same. We are all passionate about the next gen. and I would love to tell you more. I really really would. But the consequences of my big mouth isn't worth losing my job.

I wont say any more about the next gen. iPhone and I'm sure that will bring on more criticism but oh well. I will deal with that.

Anybody who honestly believes that AT&T/Apple Store reps do not know about a product before the release day is out of their mind. They have the products in store before release day.

wow. I thought this was gonna be a joke thread. have you ever met an at&t employee that could string together a complete sentence without drooling?

Was this a call to a AT&T sales representative or a customer support representative? If customer support, it likely isn't even an AT&T employee, but rather an employee of a 3rd-party contractor such as Convergys.

Many calls from the US northeast, for example, are handled by a Convergys branch in my hometown of Halifax, NS, Canada.

My brother works for them, and he tells me that they do have samples of most of AT&T's current lineup of phones with which they can familiarize themselves with their features. He tells me he hasn't heard anything official about a next-generation iPhone yet. In fact, I took him by surprise when I mentioned the OS 3.0 beta.

she doesnt know what she is talking about i remember before the 3g came out

my friend an ATT rep and my other friend the att branch manager Didnt get to play with the iphones untill like 4-5 days before the iphone came out.. so she has no idea what she is talking about.

um i worked for att and no they dont, they are kept in the dark just like apple store employees, we get shipments of all the products either the night before launch day or the morning of.

that would only apply to COR employees. There are other departments within at&t.

Well then not all AT&T stores handle things the same way. I have three friends who work for AT&T and all claimed to know about the iPhone (3G) before its release. One of them even had a picture of the iPhones in the back of the store on his cell phone.

i know but he said reps, some higher ups have em for sure, but no one in store.

Two of my friends are just reps, the third is in charge of the entire store. It is very possible that the reps only knew because he told them (which it is possible he was not supposed to do) but all said and done, they still found out.

That was exactly my point. If you were really afraid of loosing your jobs, your wouldn't be posting about confidential information in the MacRumors forums at all.

Maybe some people at ATT do have pertinent information, but its not you. Maybe this is making you upset or jealous, or maybe you just like attention. Whatever the reason, we both know that there is no such thing as a minor breach of confidentiality. You "confirmed" that there will be a new iPhone in June/July, thats grounds to be fired. There are no degree's in breaking an NDA. It was a good try, and I guess you did get at least a little of the attention you needed.

Yup. Your exactly right. I just wanted attention. That's it.

I'm sick of this. If you're an ATT rep, you obviously don't have the brain capacity of cow with the brain retardation. I'm sorry but this discussion is taken too far. (Excuse my English. I am foreign, but I know stupid when I see them.)

And if you are ATT rep and read this please feel guilty for this. You have given bad experience to many of customers. Baba hega poth cou!
