Mine definitely shows the just finished kilometer time and not average - 100% sure. It even says so under the workout app and Split alerts where mine is set to 1,00 km (you can select what you want)

Observed it on my run today exactly the same. Distance (1km) and pace.

And checked the settings, no idea where it could be configured differently apart from the split length.
Maybe there is something wrong when using miles?

Are you sure about the average pace?
I can check tomorrow but I am quite sure the lap alert shows pace for the last lap.

Yes, it's bizarre because I came from a Series 8 and it would always show the split pace after each mile, but now it's showing the average pace for some reason...can't find where to change it.

If you press the three dots on the running app, scroll down to settings, what is configured for „Pace“ and „Splits“.

My settings are:

Pace: Off, On, On
Split: On, 1km

To be sure: you talk about the pace that is displayed, not something spoken?

All are the same for me, except for miles instead of km:

Pace:
None
Pacer Alert On
Race Alert On

Splits:
1.00 mi

And correct, it’s what’s displayed not spoken (I have the audio part set to off). It’s the screen that shows after each mile is completed.

Is there a way to turn off track detection? This evening I was making loops in a path that circles an athletics 400m track, but is outside of the stadium, so is slightly longer, my result worsened a lot in terms of effort for running at a certain speed, I suspect there was some automatic track detection that affected results. (S6, watchOS 11.0.1)

You also have an option to press the X in the corner and not confirm you are on a track - I did that once by mistake :D

Ah, didn‘t know that. Always was on a track by purpose and happy that it was recognized as such.

Track mode really rocks. Incredibly accurate. Love it!

Can someone confirm if this behaviour is new :

1) Create a custom workout of say 200m with 2mins cooldown
2) Run the workout and the distance in the main interval or workout screen that apple gives you (the one that you cannot modify) will display the remaining distance but, unless you tap the screen it does not update. It will auto-update total time and pace.. but the distance remaining stays static unless you tap the screen.

Somehow I don't recall this behaviour un 11.0.1

I did a time based interval workout today and everything did update as expected.
Tomorrow I will do a distance based workout and report.
Am on watchOS 11.1.

I did a interval with open warm up and 5 x 1.000 meters with a minute rest between and then cool down. Everything was normal. Going to update to 11.1 tonight

Any tips on how to block the action button to not to count the segment when accidentally pressed while running? I know that 'water lock' is a solution but for me this is so stupid to run with the 'water lock' mode enabled.

Maybe I do not fully understand what your plan is but to my knowledge water lock does not lock the action button.
Instead I often put in water lock Mode and I am always happy to have the action button to progress intervals.

Thanks and ditto to @xDKP. I was sure it didn't do this pre 11.1 I've submitted a report in Feedback Assistant.. Rather annoying doing a 5000m interval to constantly have to tap the glass to see how much more I have to suffer.

Changed my plan for today and did a time based interval again. Will do a distance based on Sunday and will report if the values do update.

@quarq : did a distance based interval workout and remaining distance for the intervals was updating as expected even with wrist down.

Strava is closing out 3rd party apps:

If you want a good alternative for analyzing your data, go to runalyze. Data can be easily synced to it, e.g. via RunGap or HealthFit.

As far as I understand, it will not change for us just sync'ing from Apple Health to Strava? It's more if you have a 3rd party coach with access to your runs and data etc. ?

Would read it the same.

The guys from runalyze have a more understandable statement:

So all 3rd party apps and platforms that pull data from Strava should rethink their business model.
Not good.
As I am not using Strava for particular reasons, I am happy to have a viable alternative. To be precise: multiple. ;-)
Storing every FIT-file coming out of RunGap in my iCloud Drive just in case.
