Ryan Dunn Dies

"Jackass" star Ryan Dunn was the driver in this morning's fatal crash ... this according to cops who also say Dunn's car was "fully engulfed in flames" when officials arrived to the scene. The West Goshen Township Police Department says officers found Dunn's 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 "off the road and in the woods."

Both Dunn and his passenger "died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident." Cops will release more information on the passenger once officials can positively identify the body.

Cops say "speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident."

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

As TMZ previously reported, Dunn tweeted a photo of himself drinking with friends hours before the accident.

I've been a huge fan of Jackass since 2000 and just started watching his show on G4.
Why do people drink and drive?????? DAMNIT!!!

Dude, I was just talking about this with my co-workers. I can't believe how mangled that car is. That's what happens when you drink and go 110mph in a forest.

Ironic though how he died in something unrelated to the show.

Drinking and driving is stupid, and I can't say I feel sorry for him, but I'm upset. I love Jackass and Ryan was one of my favorite.

I hope the other guys continue on with Jackass and keep making movies. I know Ryan would want them to.

so of course i haven't seen every car wreck photo in my lifespan, BUT, i've seen enough in the news and I don't know if I've honestly seen such a devastating photo - it doesn't even look like a vehicle!

It's hard not to lean that it was drinking and driving given his twitpic. I don't understand the drinking and driving, but what scares me most is how many MORE times are people doing and making it home unscathed?

That scares the crap out of me.

No one should drink and drive. Like you, I'm glad no other cars were involved. Too bad there was a passenger with him.
 
It's a tragedy for his family and that of the passenger, but totally unsurprising given the message and lifestyle surrounding Jackass. It is fortunate that he didn't kill anyone else.
 
I hope that he hadn't been drinking before hand but the twitter picture does make it look likely. Sadly:-

Fast car + alcohol = accident.

I feel for all of his family and friends. What a waste.:(

I would have picked Steve - o but he seemed to have cleaned himself up pretty good.

Very sad, but what does one expect, if the rumors are true, driving drunk and speeding at a very high speed. Not good. What is more sad is he took someone with him.

What is it with people driving cars at 110MPH and crashing, there was a story here in LA by Santa clarita about this guy with a Nissan 350z drinking and vaporized his car at a gas station at 100MPH while being chased by cops...

Sad, I saw an episode of Viva la Bam last week...:(
 
Used to love Jackass as a kid, used to be funny stuff (not sure what happened to it, just stopped watching at one point). But drunk driving? Yeah. No sympathy I'm afraid.
 
I follow him on twitter and remember looking at that photo of him and his friends drinking. It's sad to think how now, he's just gone, especially from something as stupid as drinking and driving. Or being drunk and driving ... w/e.
 
So, he got thousands of morons to hurt themselves doing stupid things, then he gets drunk and goes real fast in a GT3 which is designed not to crash at high speeds, and manages to crash it anyway. Not easy. And he takes out another life with his.

A life well spent indeed.

You win the boner of the year comment. Christ, a car has four rubber tires, you can crash any car at triple digit speeds.

That said, I think the guy sounds like a real loser, as does the whole Jackass trashfest family. It's basically trailer trash on MTV.
 
The guy did like to live it to the extreme. And drinking and driving got him killed, fortunately there were no other victims involved. Sorry for the family really, Dunn didn't glow for his intellect.

How is a GT3 not designed to crash? In fact, how is any car not designed to crash? If you speed while drunk at 110miles per hour at night and you hit something, you crash and die.
