I didn't think that was a thing on Android.

Not joking, I've held about 50 different Android devices at one time or another during development, work, or exploring at a store, and I've never seen a single one that would be described by any of those 3 words.
What? What kind of devices do you use? Androids are more responsive, faster than iPhones and most of them have better displays.

Been testing using both since way back when. Higher end Androids are every bit as smooth, many cases faster, and just as responsive as the 15ProMax I just gifted. Definitely more flexible. That is MHO.

Not sure what models you were using. Either way, enjoy what you have.
"I once used Huawei Sonic U8650 and compared it to the iPhone and I gotta say iPhone is a lot better. Never going back. Ever since I used Huawei Sonic I hate Android and all the Android phones."

My question do the OP: How well does SmartSwitch work?

OP here.
haven’t used SmartSwitch yet. When I do I’ll post it here.

As for Huawei, those are generally not supported here in the US. Never used one.
Have an Honor V2 and it was pretty good. None of the Chinese features or software worked.

Some initial battery use now that it has been a couple of days.

SOT of 5h 42m for 48% use.

Nothing heavy.
YT Music

Other odds and ends

Have display set for Adaptive Smoothness and Brightness with Vivid color. Screen resolution FHD+ (2340x1080). Pretty much stock.

Better than expected. 👍

LMAO. That's rich, all around. Literally none of them are fast, or more responsive. That isn't debatable. As far as better displays, some have unnecessarily higher density displays which do not translate to "better" at all. They are also far more subject to burn in thanks to how **** Android is.

Every iOS device ever made has a minimum standard of performance, responsiveness, and fluidity. I can pick up any of a dozen Android pieces of junk I have in a drawer here that will take 30 seconds to open the keyboard.

I'll assume they're all a decade old? Even a £200 CMF Phone is nice and breezy at general use. iOS is so smooth I turn off ProMotion and don't notice its gone but Android is a decent operating system.

Interesting. I've had every iPhone except the 4s and pretty much every Android flagship sold in the US in the last 10 years and this couldn't be further from the truth in my experience. Your post has nothing factual or experience based and is based solely on your fanaticism with Apple and the iPhone. My S25 Ultra is every bit as smooth, fast, and responsive as my 16PM and the display is on par, if not better. If you have a android device that takes 30 seconds to load a keyboard it is likely a 5-10 year old device that isn't even supported any longer. I have a Galaxy S7 in my drawer that I can fire up and it loads just fine. And while we are at it, iOS 18 is a buggy POS and I have far more stutters, freezes, errors with it than I do with OneUI8/Android 15 on my S25U or Android 16 beta on my Pixel 9 Pro XL or Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the latter of the two which run on a far inferior SOC to the 16PM.

Definitely not. All less than 5 years old. Regardless, Apple has never released an iOS device that doesn't meet a minimum standard of performance and I've never used an Android device that met that same standard.

I'll agree that Android doesn't feel as 'solid' as iOS. There's something about it I just can never put my finger on where its almost as if Android is made of paper whilst iOS is made of glass, metaphorically speaking. Its difficult to put into workds, you know?

Really? In the latest speed test Samsung did way better than Apple.

Couple things:
1. Every iOS devices runs just as well as any other. I've never held a single Android device that works as well as the brand new top of the line Samsung Galaxy device in this video (but then again, neither have most people, because those devices sell like sht compared to the $200 Android phones).
2. The doofus in this video is acting like the Samsung is faster than the iPhone because iOS has deliberate, human-designed animations and interface movement, where as Android has nothing. It's like an iPhone with Reduce Motion turned to max. It's awful. Not what was meant for human beings. That doesn't actually make things faster in a practical way.

You're right, it isn't debatable. The S25 Ultra has twice as fast touch sampling rate (240hz) as the iPhone 16PM (120Hz) which makes it more responsive.

I own the S25U and 16PM and use them both daily. Explain to me then what the significance is of 240hz vs 120hz touch sampling rate? I know it isn't the same as refresh rate.
The significance is the effect it clearly has on the spec hounds that think if the numbers on a piece of paper are higher, it must be better, and no one is going to tell you otherwise.

Meanwhile, Samsung can't even outsell an iPhone from 2 years ago with either its best or its worst offering.

You didn't answer the question. Show me facts that state otherwise / touch sampling rate doesn't matter. Couldn't care less who sells more.

For the same reason that if they ship a display with 800 DPI it won't matter. The human eye can't perceive anything denser than around 300-330 DPI, so anything "better" than that is not actually better in any practical or functional way.

That's just not true. The S25 Edge also has 240hz response rate.

How do the numbers look when you compare sales for iPhones versus all the Androids? Because Apple chooses to keep its OS to itself, and Google chooses to allow pretty much anyone to buiild Android smartphones, it's not really a fair comparison picking one OEM segment of the Android market and comparing it to the entirety of the iPhone market.

Yeah … call it what it is but I am now the proud owner of an S25 Edge, 512GB, Black. See attached.

Disclaimer: I have only had it for less than a day so battery and other longer term info will have to wait.

First impressions.
Thin. Very Thin. Very Light. Feels odd in the hand for about … 30 seconds. After that, everything else feels brickish. Is that a word 😁 ? It set up very fast as I just did a data dump from my S25Plus. (This device will be going to a needy relative).
Setup was easy-peasy.
It is running smooth, fast, responsive. For some reason, faceID and fingerprints work better than the Plus. I’ve played around with some apps, games, websites. All run well. No issues so far. Knocking on wood.

Started playing with the cameras this morning. I am impressed with them. Better quality than the Plus. Don’t have a 25 Ultra to compare the 200mp. (The photos attached were taken with my iPad. Yes, the camera does work, poorly.)

As for the thinness and weight, the numbers may not look that’s impressive, however in hand it is VERY noticeable. I handed it to my other half and her first words were “It is light!”. She uses a OnePlus 12.

Anyway, I’ll post again in a couple of days once I have more info on usage. Any questions feel free to ask. I’ll answer if I can.
My dude.
If you’re posting about the edge and talking about thinness you gotta post a side ways picture so we see how thin it is outside if marketing photos. Next to S25plus and maybe even an iPhone!

How does it feel emerging from the Vault and what year did you go in?
