My dude.
If you’re posting about the edge and talking about thinness you gotta post a side ways picture so we see how thin it is outside if marketing photos. Next to S25plus and maybe even an iPhone!

Figured there were enough out there. But here it is; S25 Edge alongside an S25 Plus.

IMG_1317.jpegIMG_1319.jpeg

An iPhone will have to wait as I no longer have my 15 ProMax.
Photo taken with my iPad. Not the best.

UPDATE: added a pic of the Edge alongside a 15 ProMax.

How do the numbers look when you compare sales for iPhones versus all the Androids? Because Apple chooses to keep its OS to itself, and Google chooses to allow pretty much anyone to buiild Android smartphones, it's not really a fair comparison picking one OEM segment of the Android market and comparing it to the entirety of the iPhone market.
Really? I'd say that's a more than fair comparison. Apple has 3 models of iPhone outselling even the cheapest Android feature phone, that sells for $200+. They have a 4th model from 2 years ago that is outselling the top of line flaghship from Samsung. This is where it really matters. But if you want to add all of Android into the picture, it actually makes it worse for Android. The average selling price for Android is around $235. The average selling price for iPhone is around $950. These aren't even competing products at this point. The average Android shopper is not even in the market for iPhone, because they can't afford one. They aren't choosing Android over iPhone for any reason other than price.

So lets look at the whole picture worldwide at Android versus IOS....
This will put things in perspective...... I don't care what the price point is that is a fubar mis-direction on your part.
The most popular mobile operating system worldwide is Android......

And what's the market share look like for products over $500?

Last time I looked that is over 90% Apple, and has been since the beginning of iPhone.

Apple completely owns the market share in which they compete. $900 products and $200 are not in competition with each other, they aren't even the same market.

It's exhausting talking about this with people who actually believe Android is more popular because people like Android. No one likes Android. Around the world, it is the only thing they can afford.

Who cares? What does that even matter? It doesn't matter to anyone...except for a few blind brand loyalist like you...
You are here bragging about overpaying for a smartphone :D:D:D

That is like saying I bought Ferrari....so anything less than Ferrari doesn't count......because you cant' afford a Ferrari..then you don't matter. get over yourself....
You want to talk value for the buck...lets talk AI...... Those lower priced Android phones have better AI because of Google assistant or Gemini than Apple Intelligence. Apple Intelligence is a joke......Siri is like 5 years behind what current gen AI on Android phones do.....
Apple Intelligence is so bad...Apple demonstrated functionality in last year iPhone launch that STILL isn't available a year later!

Then why are here in this section? You only come here to troll and rile people up.....

If you ignore these "people" they shut up. I put them on ignore. It's a new account and probably one of the previously banned accounts than come in here spewing their crap everywhere. Not sure what they are trying to accomplish and the last line of their post about all people can afford is laughable. Most of us enthusiasts in here have multiple devices and can afford just about anything we want.

I don't care about market share. I don't care about sales figures. I don't care about the world's wealth. I don't care about competing phones / brands. I don't care about brand loyalty. I don't care about phone wars, I'm not 12 years old.

I like Android and choose to use Android. Clearly you don't like Android. Point made, please stop.

I like reading about experiences with the S25 Edge, which is what this thread is for.

Earlier today I posted, by request, a side by side of the Edge vs S25 Plus and Edge vs 15 ProMax.
It has been a short week since I got rid of my iPhone. Picking this one up to do a quick pic, I was surprised at how much more I felt the weigh and thickness compared to the iPhone. 😯. Got used to the lighter weight really fast.

I do find the Edge is much more comfortable to carry in pocket and to use single handed. I do a decent bit of Kindle daily. Gotta keep that reading streak going ! 😁

Been using it mildly today. At present battery is at 83% with 2h19m SonT and 6h18m SoffT.

Has some monsoon storms come through and did some video. Video was very good and sound came through clearly with no real distortion (rain falling and thunder). Will play a bit more with that.

Have a couple of SmartTag2 that I have been tracking on my Edge. No issue with these at all.

More to come.

I'm sure there are plenty of sites where you can do that.

Once the point can't be refuted anymore, suddenly it becomes "who cares". You cared enough to look up data and post it. I showed you what your data actually meant, and suddenly no one cares anymore.

I think the point is made and is clear for anyone who wants to know it.

Any difference in sound / speaker quality compared to the S25+?

Really so iPhones are better because they cost more?

So best display on a smartphone is an Android phone.....

Best battery life on a smartphone is....yep you guessed it...on an Android phone....

Best camera on a smartphone is....yep on Android phones...

Best AI that comes on a smartphone......yep...Android for the win again....

See the difference between us...I post actual data with links to prove it.....
All you say is but....but.....but....the iPhone costs more....

You keep bragging about overpaying for that fruit logo 🤣🤣🤣

Who the hell do you think you are? We are all long established members of this site who enjoy Apple AND Android. If you didn't notice this subforum is "alternatives to iOS" where we can discuss our Apple devices as well as alternatives. What you are doing is trolling and thread crapping which are both against the rules. If you can't follow the rules take your noob ass out of here.

This is the one thing I worry about with the Edge. Well that and lack of telephoto. I looove the speakers on the S25U. But I'm very intrigued by the edge. Couple maybe sell off the OP13 and give it a spin. 🤔
Agree, speakers on the S25U are great. You think just cranking up volume at a Best Buy would be adequate? I may just go take a look for myself. Another concern I have is that I'll use a case with the Edge, negating really the only benefit of the phone. I know myself, later this year I'll also be tempted by the Flip 7, Pixel 10XL, OnePlus 14 with a flat screen (could be the perfect phone), and of course the next iPhone 😂.

Ha yea I'm sure I'll fall into temptation with the Z Fold 7, Pixel 10XL and Pixel 10 Fold so probably best to hold off on the Edge. I did check it out at Best Buy and man it is so nice. Speaker sounded about on par with the Oneplus 13 which is not great but not terrible either. Just don't think I'd keep a phone without a telephoto lens in my rotation enough to warrant the purchase but it sure was tempting.

I don't want to add all the Android devices to the picture. I meant compare sales of all iPhone flagships against every Android flagship across all OEMs in the same price range.

When you compare Apple versus Samsung, you're essentially comparing Apple + all the other Android flagship handset makers against Samsung. That's 100% of the iPhone market plus 75% of the Android Market versus Samsung at 25% of the Android market. Not really a "more than fair comparison".

I do miss a telephoto at time. One good aspect is the 200MP captures so well I can digitally zoom in and still have a very good photo. I never did much 10x but occasional 5x.

Video - doing zoom and lens changes while capturing is nice and smooth!

Thinking about it, I only really use the speakers for conf calls sometimes or quick sound checks on social media . I use ear buds mostly (using Nothing atm).

I will say for conf calls, the Edge does just as well as my Plus.

Been playing with video to see how “sound” works.

Dogs playing, afternoon thunderstorm, and a meeting with a presenter.

The results from the Edge and the Plus - they are pretty much identical. The only time I noticed a difference was during the thunderstorm - the crack of the thunder sounded more muted on the Plus. Both were muted however I could hear the “crack” of the lightning where the “crack” was pretty much gone on the Plus.

Both did well with the dogs and their play sounds - Shiba’s so if you know the breed it sounds more like a fight 😂
Both did well with the presentation masking any background sounds.

Both devices were set to FHD 30 / HDR. Zoom-in-Mic was set to On.

Battery Update for Standby

Now that app optimization is complete, I have let the Edge sit off the charger the last couple of night in standby to see how much battery is used.

Thursday night - 5%
Friday night - 4%.

I am not using AOD.

Just a quick update.
I no longer have the S25Plus to use as comparison. It was gifted yesterday.

For those concerned about battery, mild to heavier use, at the end of the day I have not fallen below 25% by bed time.
