No idea why Apple discontinued the nylon bands? Goes well with ceramic!

View attachment 866660

An Apple sales associate last year mentioned to me that they weren’t holding up well with daily use (easily soiled, heavy creasing) and that was why Apple discontinued them. Having said that, that is a FANTASTIC color - particularly striking against the white ceramic case

So I went to the Apple Park Visitor Center Apple store and they had the Ceramic in stock. They accidentally built 2 ceramic Apple watches for me in 44mm.

first impressions, looks better when there is a lot of light beamed at it just like at the store. Since the ceramic material is thicker it makes the screen feel smaller to me than the series 4.

it looks great with the White sport band. I tried it with my hermes leather bands as well. I don’t know its the sticker shock, I’m not as eagerly excited for this watch as I was for my series 4.

So the continuing saga of my watch. Powered it up today and it’s completely behaving itself. Called tech support and they suggested that I should still return it As they still suspect a fault.
They put me through to sales and the sales guy was very helpful and put me on hold whilst he spoke to post sales about my problem with the long delays for a replacement. He then put me through to the guy in post sales who said that he would put a new watch on priority order. He couldn’t guarantee when the watch wou,d arrive but he said it would be on the priority list. He said that if my current watch was now working, not to return it but to keep using it until my new one arrives, then I am to call Apple and a courier would pick up my old one. The would be no charge or hold on my card.
As long as my watch doesn’t keep rebooting, I am happy with that.

That’s the sort of customer service you should have had in the first place. Glad it’s getting sorted.

Bought two Nike bands today! Someone’s already shown the royal pulse one, so here’s the desert sand sport band (not loop)..

it’s kinda hard to describe the colour.. the cream “desert” colour is really subtle and only comes out in the light..

You’re the first person to have shown this IRL, and I think I might replace my clementine with it, if Apple allows the exchange. Really, really sharp.

yea its really nice. I think of all the Nike sport bands I’ve been looking forward for this the most, though the royal pulse was a recent interest from the above pics. Haha!
Here’s another pic from the Apple store, if it helps with the colour. It’s the second band. I put the stone band there for reference. :

is it lighter than the stone? I am missing the cloud white and find the current pure white on my S5 ceramic a bit harsh. Maybe the NIKE the right option?

yea it’s ever so slightly lighter than the stone. Hence I was saying the “desert” shade of the colour only comes out in certain lighting.

Does anybody have any pics of the black/pink Nike band with the ceramic?

Super hesitant to get it cos I thought the black/volt looked hideous on my ceramic.. see below..

Does anyone have a photo the ceramic paired with the space black modern buckle? I'm debating whether to go with the black sport band or space black modern buckle.

ooh thanks!

Do you like it? somehow i think the colours are too contrasting.. not a fan of it.. hmm..

Not my cup of tea but the California face with the endless color options IMO makes some bands work that wouldn’t otherwise.

I think the Black/Pink Nike would look great with the SBSS, though I think a lot of Nike bands look the best with that watch.
