How do you find the ceramic matches with your Hermès bands? I have around 5 of them and also the black and silver milanese and numerous sport loops but just like what you said, I’m really just wanting it for the ceramic, function-wise really doesn’t seem much of an upgrade at all....
It doesn’t. I can’t do mis matched lug colors. Just looks hideous. I only use the sports band with the Ceramic. That’s one of my least favorite things about the watch.

I couldn't make up my mind to start with about upgrading from my S4 SBSS as it was faultless and in mint condition and AOD and the Compass just didn't seem worth an upgrade but i weakened in the end because i missed my S3 Ceramic. Its still the best casing. Since I got the S5, I find AOD such a benefit. The fact that I can look at the watch and see the time without raising my wrist along with having a ceramic case again makes it worth it for me. I couldn't go back to looking at a slab of black on my wrist again.
AOD is a benefit, but still not worth it coming from a Series 4 in my opinion. Plus the battery life (for me) is noticeably worse on the S5.

So I just had about a few days with my ceramic.

Based on my impression, i feel like this watch really works well with a black band like the hermes noir or a brighter color. White on white is easily where this watch shines, but other colors in general didn't make me feel as great. I do own two hermes watches (one listed here) and it's nice, but I wonder if this band would look better with another color. Unfortunately for me, i invested alot in the luxury bands and I still want to continue to wear them.

Also due to the ceramic, the watch is actually bigger than the Ti because of the thicker ceramic material, it makes the bezels more pronounced.

I had the same feeling when I tried it on in store. It definitely felt bigger than my SS Hermes S4.

I’m hearing that gray ceramic is going to make a reappearance for the Series 6. (No, I don’t have a source I can release, don’t ask.😁) but now that I’m over the fact that they didn’t offer it for the Series 5, I think the white ceramic really does sell itself in the photos in this thread.

Personally, having the S3 ceramic, I am not going S5 ceramic.
I will keep the S3C and wear it casually here and there, since the resale is so low.

Where I am torn is replace when S4 SBSS with the ti and S5 Nike or keep the SBSS and pick up a S5 Nike

I dislike all of you.
But love my Ceramic S5
Lol

I like your orientation, of the watch that is

I agree that ceramic doesn’t play well at all with metals. It just looks almost tacky. I think the black lugs if SS could be acceptable but the ceramic I feel just does well with full bright colours. I also feel Nike bands with the holes are just meh to me.. maybe it triggers trypophobia in me haha..

this is by far my most favourite look of ceramic and especially after discovering that watch face hahahha!

white on white on white~

To me this is the only option with Ceramic. I’m still not sold on a 1500 watch with a sports band only. Giving the Hermès a try tomorrow and then I need to decide.

Yea pure white looks beautiful :) I guess it also depends on how u like the other bands. I do like bright colours and how they all pop out with the ceramic. All the pics with bold colour sport bands here can give an idea..
and on leather loops i do like how the saddle brown/black looks on it, mostly because there's no ugly shiny metal lugs, they are just full colour, which i think is important for the ceramic look..

But then generally i think the uniform colour scheme will always look perfect for the casing, ie gold ss+ gold milanese, silver SS with SS link bracelet (and the SB versions for both). Just that the ceramic only has the white sport band to make it uniform. The different coloured sport loops/bands are just a matter of how you feel it fits with your casing, no matter the material and colour of the case..

The only problem i have is the price. If I buy the hermes watch individually, i save almost 200 to 250 dollars compared to buy the hermes edition. I don't know what else you get besides the watch face.

I bought the titanium in space black but I’m returning it cause I just feel it’s not that much of an upgrade to spend as much as I did. But if the gray ceramic comes back next year I’m getting that day one! I’m saving for the series 6 now. So stoked.

I think this is a given and might even make me think about upgrading my grey Series 3...

If the electric blue leather band came with black metal I would buy 10 of them. By far my favorite band and color

ah man, electric blue was so good. I bought one a few months ago, but wound up selling it again because I just didn't wear it with the ceramic. I even tried to retrofit it on a traditional watch, but the bands were too wide. Such a gorgeous color.

Outside of the light is it more pinkish or purplish? Looks cool!

It’s more purplish with a touch of pink. Conversely, I find the Hibiscus sport band to be more pink with a touch of purple.

As always, the color varies greatly depending on the ambient lighting

Indeed, those buying SS or this are buying it based on looks as lets face it the watch does the same things as the aluminium....

I don't quite agree with that, although looks play a big role. I made the mistake of getting the S3 for my wife in aluminium, she liked the gold – four weeks in the glass was scratched. My SS series 0 crystal is still pristine, like on day one, after 4.5 years of non-stop wearing. I would therefore only go for SS or Edition watches in the future, just to get the sapphire crystal.

Anyone have any pictures of their ceramic with business attire; I’m curious if I could businessy it up when I have business trips

I agree. The stainless/ceramic/titanium I’ll offer one major factor over the aluminum, and that is the Sapphire display. I really think Apple should advocate more about that, because I think a lot of consumers don’t even know what sapphire is and it might be more for ‘selling point’ for someone to spend the extra money, especially given the Ion-X glass on the aluminum is junk.

Then there are people who don’t scratch their aluminium watches too. It’s down to the individual and how conscious they are of not exposing the watch to risky circumstances.
