I've had my Series 5 Ceramic for almost 2 years. It was 100% Battery Health when I got it and now it's at 85% Battery Health. The watch has AppleCare+ until October.

At 85% Battery Health the watch doesn't qualify for a free battery replacement. You only get that at 80% or below. So I've got to remind myself a month before the AppleCare expiry to check the Battery Health and book in the free battery replacement.

@Ninja Dom mine was at 83% and they ran a diagnosis and it showed at “need services”.

I also told them I have burn in on the screen.

Try again, you never know.

Having a brand new one is so nice and so comfortable. I still have 20% at 7pm!

I’m just missing a new ceramic band. Unfortunately, after multiple calls, they can’t find a replacement, even after giving the code from @chengengaun.

Okay, thanks for that. I w'll give it a try. I'm happy to keep the same unit, they can just change the battery. For free!

My s5 ceramics battery is tired, it says 84%, but it doesn’t get thru the day anymore. My ac+ is expired, is it really only a $79 charge for new battery? Anyone done it?

Just a word of advice for those of us who want to replace the AW battery - do avail yourself of the Express Replacement Service if it is available, and hand over your Watch only upon satisfactory receipt of the replacement watch.

On July 2 I handed over my Watch to the Apple Store Genius Bar before receiving the replacement, thinking I was already at the Store and what could go wrong anyway. Well, Murphy's Law promptly exercised itself - the replacement watch I received is an S6 Titanium, and it looked as if it's been sitting in the box for a while (the matte paper cover on the watch did not look pristine - there seems to be some spots on it).

I opened a case with Apple Support, and the senior advisor asked if I was open to the possibility of keeping the newer S6 instead. I promptly and firmly declined, and he said he will call back the next day. I was busy for the next few weeks and did not pick up the call - expecting that he will update via email - but there was no follow-up thereafter. When I finally managed to re-open the case with another senior advisor on July 25, he said nothing has been done to my case.

Now I was given August 12 +/- 3-5 working days as the day my replacement S5 will ship. I suspect that Apple does not keep a ready stock of S5 ceramic watches ready to ship. Now I only hope I can get a replacement S5 ceramic. Meanwhile, the S6 is languishing inside the box...

p/s: I forgot to mention that the second senior advisor also asked if I am willing to keep the S6. I hope my repeated refusal sends a tiny signal to Apple that some people just irrationally crave ceramic model...

That is interesting. I do not recall if I read it here or on another board but someone had posted a comment that apple does have ceramic 5s in stock specifically to replace when issues arise. I had also read a comment that it was ideal to mail in the watch rather than bringing it in for repair at a local apple store. I am a bit concerned that if my watch begins to demonstrate issues, will it be replaced with another ceramic watch? Or will it be substituted for an "equivalent" product? I agree, as most ceramic watch owners will, it a beautifully designed product. Post the outcome of your experience.

I hope Apple does have ready stock of ceramic S5 for replacement, and that my wait is simply to sort out the paperwork (the second senior advisor told me he had to correct some records so that the replacement product i.e. the ceramic S5 is properly reflected in the record). Nonetheless, I am also wondering about the inventory level as the product becomes older.

That comment is sound advice; I think the mail-in express replacement method greatly reduces the chance of such mix-up. Since you will receive the replacement watch before sending the original, you can at least hold on to the watch if there is a mix-up.

I believe that was probably a one-off mixup. Apple would likely continue to manufacture/refurbish ceramic watches for replacement purposes until the series 5 becomes vintage (ie. after Apple has stopped distributing them for sale more than 5 and less than 7 years ago). Currently, the 1st gen Apple Watch is the only watch Apple has marked as vintage.

I finally received the S5 ceramic and am in the process of returning the S6 titanium; dropped Apple Support a message to make sure they know it’s a S6 being returned.

I still own my ceramic apple watch Series 5. It's been an amazing watch, last year i did drop it and some of the ceramic cracked off near the dial. It was in pain for weeks.

I want to get the new watch but i don't want to give up on this one. It's so beautiful to see it in white.

Back in the Ceramic crew 😜

After selling it earlier this year, I bought another used one last week and had the battery replaced (read: got a replacement watch from Apple). So now I have a brand new S5 Ceramic and this time I‘ll keep it 😊

Question on the battery replacement.

What steps do I need to do with mine? It's at 84% battery health, and I really want to get a new battery (or if they want to send me a refurb ceramic, that's fine too).

Thanks!

Apple would only replace battery health that is at 79% or lower. You could try getting a replacement on grounds of a defective battery, but they generally wouldn't replace it if the battery health is 80% and above.

I first went through Support Chat and they wouldn't set up the repair (told me their system didn't allow it - probably because the system check showed 85% capacity).
Then I set up the repair by myself through mysupport and entered that I need to exchange the battery, agreed that I would pay 111 Euros and went through with it. Next day the service box was delivered and I sent it off

You can renew AppleCare to a monthly plan. Just renewed the apple care, $5 a month for my favorite watch.
Is it possible to get Apple care of Care + on a watch which I have purchased privately? I love the S5 Ceramic but want to get a warranty on it if Im going to use it daily.
