Macbooks and MacBooks Pros lacks features. If i can remember, Apple don't change the design of macbooks/powerbooks since 2003 the major feature as the illuminated keyb.. also they only added the isight.

Taiwan makers also do better things than Apple:

iTunes will run great on these portables.

that looks as exciting as yer grandmas underwear

OK. so now it seems that even apple agrees with me on this issue. they have changed the squareness of the design & added the new black border around the screen which nearly completely changes the impact of it. this design change is one of the most significant to date, apple is slowly moving away from the ol' PowerBook design (it was getting old). i really really like the design!!

p.s. does everyone feel like their MB/Ps just went down in price a bit :(

i like the mac book design, both old and the one that was released today i dunno i like the white cleanness of them.

Quoted for truth. Black bezels and glossy displays? Screw with your MB and iMac lines all you want, Apple, but leave the MBPs alone.

Seriously, it's been the standard for so long. These new notebooks might be shiny & trendy, but I don't think they'll stand the test of time as a classic design like the PB/early MBP.

I think the new designs are stunning.

Watching the macbook movie you do see just how beautiful they are, comparing them to the old ones is like night and day. The old ones, look old.

As for standing the test of time, with the way they are made and the finish they appear to have, I can't see any notebook manufacturer getting close for a long while.

I think the new designs are fantastic –*and they'll probably look even better in reality. Remember the huge complaint over the "fat" iPod nano?

if i was on the design team over at apple, when the new souped-up CPUs come in late 09 or early 10 (or sooner, i suppose), i'd keep this design the same but with black-anodized aluminum.

black metal, black keys, black bezel. usher in the new world order of apple computing... if the thinking is that the aluminum look is getting old, seems anodized is the way to update it while keeping all the strengths of the product. wonder how much it costs.

the white doesnt do it for me, seems to...."non computery"

I can honestly say the new design is a trainwreck.

haha fair enough. have you even seen them in real life yet?

see i dont know about that, the pure silver look was getting old. they had to do something, and they have. so you never know it just might stand for a long time.

finally someone who see's the light :p.

the design looks very professional, it fits in well with the new LED displays and the iMacs perfectly. i guess we better get used to it because soon the MP's will be looking like it too!!

very good point, i concur.
