Jesus there are some whiny people.

It's a Beta. I know some people regard this as an excuse by developers to 'prerelease' buggy software, but even if this wasn't a beta, you would still expect the same kinds of issues.

1) A lot of the problems don't lie with Safari itself - you cannot expect Apple to test all of its software for every single thirdparty app, hack, or whatever, regardless of how popular that app may be.

2) You cannot expect thirdparty developers to magically foretell the future about Apple OS changes. Give them some time to patch up their software.

ah great. the problem first came yesterday and I was like "has it always been like that? strange, I don't think so. but why?"

now I know it.

byebye Safari Beta

Yeah, its an annoying bug, but I love Safari 4 too much to get rid of it.

It's not a Safari bug..

It is the MacBU team needing to update Messenger:Mac to be compatible with the latest builds of WebKit..

Annoying

Have reported issue to apple hope they sort it out or get microsoft to sort it out ASAP its so annoying

I have the same problem with Safari 4 & hotmail. i can open my inbox but nothing happens when i click on emails. Then i cant open any more folders. i have reported this but received no reply. Its ridiculous. How can the release a browser that has these problems?

Again, it isn't a bug. Safari 4 has not caused this issue.

It is WebKit that has been updated with the installation of Safari 4 - and Messenger:Mac needs to be updated to be fully compatible with the newest build of WebKit.

Mmmmmkay?

Thank goodness for this thread! I had no idea that issues with msn were linked with the beta.
back on 3 now and much better. I also really missed the progress bar on pages loading i hope apple build that into the final version of safari 4
Thanks again every 1 here!!

I have this problem too. It's not significant enough for me to downgrade to 3. What it will do is finally encourage me to download Adium, and to use Mail to handle Hotmail.
I find the new Safari slower on my iMac, but I love the other features. Apple will sort it out shortly, I just have to be patient.

Same problem with Messenger:Mac here too. Alas, I'm pretty much married to it at work, as we use Microsoft Communications Server for interoffice IMs. And I have to use version 6 of Messenger, since version 7 doesn't work with the version of Communications Server we have at the office.

Looks like I'm going to be doing a lot of reselecting the send box in the future.

argh

exactly the same thing with me, cant open emails, log into or adium, or anything else to do with it =(, can i downgrade to the old safari? msn
