Safari 4 Beta bug with Messenger:Mac

If this keeps happening I would just suggest to go back to Safari 3. As it is called: Safari 4 BETA. This means it is in it's testing stage and not all the bugs are fixed. Maybe switch back to Safari 3 until the full versions of Safari 4 comes out. Good luck!
 
Omg

i downgraded to safari 3 but i still cant sign in, it says it could not sign in to Microsoft messenger failed because the service is not available or your not connected to the internet. And yes i am connected to the internet =D and i downgraded back to 3 after going to safari 4 BEATA =( can , any1 help now:confused:

That wouldn't be affected by WebKit..
 
hmm

well first my msn stopped me typing in the chat box after every message i sent, then it stopped my clicking on my emails now i cant sign in at all =(
 
I have the exact same problem as poster #52. Even tried using Firefox but to no avail. Tried both MSN for mac and Adium.

You used the "Uninstall Safari 4" package that came with the Safari 4 beta disk image and restarted your Mac?
 
Yes, I did. After that, when things didn't work out, I intsalled msn for Mac and reinstalled Adium. Still no luck.

oh

well, my msn is working perfectly again now, doesn't throw me outa the chat box after every message and i can sign in every time =)

What about growl mail plugin? Does it still crash mail?

man what a concidence!! first hotmail doesnt work with it and now it makes this gay little thing happen!!!

After reporting a few bugs like this, and some other problems, which I just can't be bothered to rant about now, I decided to delete it and go back to the previous version.
Hopefully it will be super tight for when they release it, but for now it's buggier than any Windows piece of S**t I've ever used...

imho...
 
I was having this problem and I had no idea where it came from so I was an idiot and reformatted my Mac. (What a waste of a install disc) This issue is really annoying I use msn all the time.

hope they sort it soon so i can go back to msn -- amsn is ok
 
Any update on this?
Adium is nice but people report that I am offline when it says I'm online.
I like Safari 4 too much to go back to 3.
This seems like a 2 minute fix on Microsoft's part, I don't understand what the big deal is.

Yes, it's up to Microsoft now, but they don't really have a reason to fix something that's being caused by Apple BETA software. I guess it's just not on their toplist of fixes.

I am having the same problem to access gmail, hotmail and facebook. Help!:confused:

The issue is fixed in a later build of WebKit than what was included with the Safari 4 beta. Hopefully this means that the later WebKit build will be included in a subsequent Safari beta, or when Safari 4 is officially released.

i downloaded the webkit and it did nothing

it was just a report bugs application - i had no clue how to use it to fix msn

As I understand it, Apple has to use the new webkit and built it into a newer Safari 4 Beta/Final. You as the comsumer can't change it.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks for ur help!! cant wait till they get this bug fixed as safari is a nice 2nd browser - i still prefer firefox with its ad blocks and youtube downloader
