No. I knew that I had just opened a tab with an embedded video, so I tried it again after relaunching Safari, but had no trouble. I'm waiting to see if it happens to me again or to anyone else, because it was a mighty strange experience. If it never happens again, then I'll conclude that I simply imagined it.It is very disturbing to see Safari 4 just go poof like that. Were you able to reproduce it on the same website(s)?
It's much easier to change search providers in Internet Explorer 8 and the accelerators are quite useful.woo, who's excited for Internet Explorer 8.. huh... anyone?![]()

Do it in Safari. How hard is it to go into preferences really? (Im on W7)
Do it in Safari.
I can understand how you missed my point. Try picking something that isn't Yahoo! or Google in Safari.I meant preferences in safari, there is not preferences in windows.
Little gear icon-> Preferences-> (under general, the default pane thats open) change default search engine
Does it NEED to be any simpler than that?

I can do it in FireFox and Internet Explorer 7/8. Why can't I do it in Safari too?And how many people WANT to do that?![]()

Well, if you look at things in a more reasonable way, Safari is actually doing worse than IE8. It's all a matter of perspective.woo, who's excited for Internet Explorer 8.. huh... anyone?![]()
Am I the only one that was surprised to see the tabs move down?
There's a large number of things in OS X that could be user-selectable and would make my life so much easier, but Apple prefers to stick to their "we know best" philosophy.I assumed then it would be parameter driven

why are my tabs back on the bottom?
But look at Google Chrome:because with top tabs, you couldn't double-click to make another tab... double-clicking minimized the window. this is much better. i'll use Safari 4 because of this.
(Previously solely a Safari user for over 10 years)
