If I have a lot of tabs open Safari gets really really slow... Firefox is still running smooth and fast...

Chrome is also a really great browser - actually much better than Firefox and Safari - but it's extensions (AdBlock and/ord AdBlockPlus) is getting it worse... :(

I switch between Safari and Chrome every few months or so. Safari seems more stable, except for Top Sites. It seems after using Safari for a while that Top Sites starts to slow to a crawl, so opening a new tab takes too long. I know it can be disabled, but I like the feature if it only didn't hog so many resources.

Chrome seems faster, it's top sites loads faster as it just uses old thumbnails but the Flash plugin crashes almost every day.

Right now I am using Chrome.

I prefer Safari. I love the extensions...and check this out, every single tab that you open will hog up memory on Chrome. It's not Safari that is slow, it's Adobe's disgusting waste of binary code Flash.

What do you use the Chrome Web store for? i am just curious.

PDF handling in Safari is far superior and it is one of the features I prefer in Safari.

Having built in flash is ok, but not a big deal.

Im a new mac user (4 months now and I love it!!!)

I have been going back and forth between Safari and Chrome...both seem to do different things for me...

I really like google, it seems snappier and I love the intergrated search in the http: line. My BIGGEST problem is downloading files. Wen I try to save a document that I have emailed myself, it never saves as the name of hte file. It downloads as some sort of attachtment.aspx crap. I HATE IT. This is the main reason why I go to Safai, it preserves the file name. (Does anyone have a solution for this??)

I like the overall intergartion with OSX of Safari. But it has crashed a few times for me (seems to crash more for my wife, maybe user error!) especially when checking webased email (outlook) for work. I also dont like that there is no + for opening a tab, I just want to click to open a new tab, not Command T. Maybe Im missing something though...

I Dl'd firefox just because I used to use it on my PC, but I dont use it much, if at all.

So, I still havent picked a winner.....my 2 cents....

There is a plus sign on the far right of the tab bar.

Why is built in Flash important to anyone? In fact, one of my favorite additions to my browser is Click2Flash where I can stop flash from autoloading on a page.

Flash is the work of the devil.

I've chosen Chrome but to be honest with you, every time Apple release a new Safari I tend to switch back. In 4 months time I will go back to Chrome again and the cycle continues. Been like that for years.

Problems with Chrome?

Been using Safari for years, but I just installed Chrome on my new macbook pro, all went well and I thought it was really nice, especially full screen mode. But I noticed that Activity Monitor and Console had been launched, and not by me! So I just removed Chrome and gone back to Safari.

I use firefox. I would use safari, but just the one issue of being forced to choose a download folder. I've never gotten used to that. I can understand making it dumb proof on the front end, but why not allow the user to change it on the back end.

I've been using FF for years...I started playing around with Safari since getting a new MBP, last week, but I still like FF and until they get the All In One Sidebar extension for Safari, I'll stick with FF. I use a few other FF extensions, and could probably do without all of them except that one. As far as themes go, I have tried a lot of them and some if not most cause problems, especially when using certain extensions, so I just use the default theme.

Work requires I spend a lot of time on the web, so speed is very important, as is blocking ads etc. The latest version of Chrome 8 is by far the fastest.

Second is the recently released Opera 11

Then Firefox Beta 4 & Safari.

I used to have a great preference for Safari, till they fell behind the development curve. Sadly Safari is just outdated in terms of performance. If you are a home user Safari is OK.

safari because the chrome interface is awful. i hate their tabs. firefox doesn't feel native either.

Safari is really getting slow in tab handling (with much tabs opened). A real pity, because I really like it...

On Mac, Safari. Marvelous browser.
Chrome doesn't feel native.

On Windows, Chrome.
Safari doesn't feel native.
But I might ditch Chrome over the H.264 stunt.
