Been using Safari for years, but I just installed Chrome on my new macbook pro, all went well and I thought it was really nice, especially full screen mode. But I noticed that Activity Monitor and Console had been launched, and not by me! So I just removed Chrome and gone back to Safari.

I think Chrome is trying to tell you that it's better than Safari :D

Started off using FF but have switched to Chrome for about the last year or so and have enjoyed using it although I've had it spike the CPU every once in awhile. I think in the 5 years I've owned a Mac I've used Safari like three times.

I tried chrome on my MacBook Pro. It was OK but I noticed that the flash plugin invoked the NVIDIA chipset to turn on. This would remain so until the browser quit. Even with no browser windows open. I confirmed this using the GFX status application. This has a massive effect on battery life so I didn't use it.

Also, does spotlight index chrome pages like in safari?

One thing I like about safari is that you can type a word into spotlight and if you have surfed it, it will turn up in the search. Very useful if you don;t remember the website - just some of the content you were surfing.

Yeah the discrete GPU goes on for me too. I hate that.

Also goes to discrete when I open Sparrow or Twitter for Mac. 2 apps that definitely doesn't need the discrete GPU to render anything.

Opera 11 master race reporting in. I made the switch once I found out that Opera was implementing extensions. My only gripe is that there is nowhere near the selection you found, say with FF or Chrome, but they will get there eventually.

I think I checked Safari in the poll but I installed Chrome the other day and really like it so far. Maybe my Safari is just cluttered by Chrome does run faster on my iMac than Safari--or Firefox. I need to try it for a few days before I decide to use it full time.:)

I've been a Safari user since I got my first MacBook nearly 4 years ago. Tried Chrome back in 2010 and loved it. It's my primary browser now. I also tried Firefox but didn't like it at all.
