If you go by Apples other products at the same pricing:

IPad Pro starts from $799
The base model Mac Mini with 16GB Apple ram is also $799
In the UK the Mac Mini with 16GB Apple ram is £639

The iPad Pro 128GB WiFi is $949
The iPhone 6S Plus 128GB is also $949
In the UK the iPhone 6S Plus 128GB is £789

The top range WiFi and cellular 128GB iPad Pro is $1079
The top of the range Mac Mini with the Magic Mouse 2 is $1078
In the UK the same top end Mac Mini and Magic Mouse 2 is £864

That should give you a rough idea I guess? I won't be surprised if you can add on an extra £30 to the top two iPad Pro prices I've put here.

Damn I was close!

You can't be serious. You're comparing a capacitive hack to a real digitizer- based pen. Both nTrig and Wacom pen are significantly better than the iPad pencil WRT palm rejection, cursor hovering etc.

So you've used Apple Pencil? Because by all the informal reviews I've read and seen, it's best in class and handles palm rejection quite nicely.

Which apps have you tried it with? What happened when you rested your palm on the iPad pro?

Which surface are you comparing it too, the surface 3 LTE that came out in May? Not sure that is fair to compare it to a product that is unreleased. The reason I can't compare the newly released Surface 4 pro to the ipad pro is that they are completely different animals and the Surface Pro 4 is a full laptop meant to compete with Macbook that doesn't have LTE. But what does the Surface 4 pro have that the Macbook doesn't? touch screen, a freakin USB port, and micro SD. I didn't like the micro USB charging port, Apple's magsafe2 charger was may better, but Apple ditched it in the new macbook!

The surface 3 LTE is heavier then an Ipad Air 2, but has a lot more productivity. I went shopping with someone that needed business productivity where their current Ipad was failing. And they went with the surface 3 LTE which is a shame because a new one is just around the corner. But if you need it and can't wait, then you do what you need to.

The point of all this and all I could think of yesterday was Apple has serious competition now. I still hate windows but man has Microsofts new hardware catch up or surpassed Apple in some areas. And the new surface book is pretty awesome, except I think it broke while I was playing with it. And the microsoft band is a horrible joke. But I can see Apple eventually going down the road of the Surface book, just like the Ipad Pro is similar to the Surface.

My point was that there's nothing special hardware-wise about the Surface Pro. It's essentially a laptop with a touchscreen that doesn't sit on your lap with a serviceable keyboard and underwhelming trackpad.

The iPad pro on the other hand, brings some nice new innovations to the hardware space.

That said, and I've said this many times before, MS and Apple are on a collision course... Both will have devices that have touch, stylus, keyboard and voice input. The difference is, they're approaching it from a position of strength... Apple's main weapon is iOS and MS's is Windows.
