How often does your HD fail?
Once or twice a week, if you want to know.

And I'd like an AMG to cost $500, I'd work an extra day to pay for it. I don't think even Sweden would give you what you want.
I don't think dpi is more important than job qualifications, just thinking of one instance you might want to use high quality. maybe wedding invitations is a better example.
Also, I was talking about laser printers, not ink jets. big difference in precision. tests show humans can tell the difference between 1200 and 2400 dpi at that distance, and I have seen good laser printing where i' like "damn, those letters have super smooth perfect curves", but haven't directly compared 600 to 1200 to 2400 dpi on laser printers specifically, but I can pretty much guarantee I could tell 600 from 1200 with no magnifying glass for certain text or graphics, and guessing maybe on 1200 to 2400. Again, displays use anti-aliasing, laser printers don't. if you can't see pixels or anti aliasing on your "retina" displays, you probably will be happy with 600 dpi laser printer.
Anti-aliasing makes blurry edges and is a pathetic way to make up for lack of resolution, and needs to die.
Apple post Steve is Apple pre-Steve-come-back ....
It's all downhill from here on out baby (at least in terms of phones, macs are still awesome).
This should have been called the Samsung Galaxy S3s
Being an avid Samsung fan, this certainly was less than what I expected. I was seriously put off by the complete absence of mentioning a processor, until I realized WHY; because this was an international audience watching. The international version appears to include an 8 core 1.6GHz processor, while here in the US we get a 1.9GHz quadcore. Seriously WTF!?
Seem whether Samsung or Apple, people expect every new device to be revolutionary. It just isn't possible. I don't know what Gizmodo thought Samsung could do that would be so revolutionary.
Re the phone, as one who just ditched a Samusng after six months to return to iPhone, I say, "Meh, it runs Android." I'm over Android. Never enjoyed it in those six months.
So how do you engineer software to make a web page look as good on iPhone's dinky narrow screen as it does on the S4's wider larger screen?
How do you make a movie look as good on Apple's 4" 640 row screen as Samsung's 5" 1080p screen?
Since it's not about the size anymore I guess both screen sizes give equal performance given the properly engineered software?
Size matters. Your girlfriend lied.
Apple needs to make a 4,7" screen on the next iPhone. I have a iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3 and I use the Galaxy S3 mostly because of the bigger screen. Do not get me wrong about this, I love Apple products, but they have to rethink how big a phone should be to day!![]()
Go watch the new Hobbit movie at 48 fps, and report back here.
in terms of software and OS Apple is so far ahead, that its not even funny..
Well, Samsung certainly reached its peak. If its flagship phone is as lame as this big plastic, bad quality screen POS, there is nothing to worry for Apple.
Certainly, i think that Apple will take some measure to make sure its not lagging, but in terms of software and OS Apple is so far ahead, that its not even funny..
Only thing I can find from that Samsung announcement is 5 inch screen and few sensors.
It works.
It's funny. You have this technologically impressive movie, displayed at a resolution that was almost unthinkable 12 years ago, and running at a super smooth frame rate almost as high as the human eye can consciously discern, and the end result...
...is it makes everything look kinda cheap.
There's something really tragic about that.
Much like instagram and other programs. Apple and others progress mobile photography to be as good as they can be and people throw tons of filters and degrade the image so it can look like a 1970s Polaroid.
Not all SAMOLED displays are made the same way.
On an 800x640 display (typical pre-HD display) at 260ppi... yep, PenTile looks like crap.
But we're talking about PenTile displays at 441ppi.
Unless you're rocking 20/5 vision, you are not goign to see the matrix at normal distances.
CNET has already checked the screen, it says that it is as pixelated as before, despite higher resolution and unnatural colours and contrast are there. Other than that, I see nothing worth mentioning in that S4, aside that its made of cheapest plastic available. Then there is a couple of half baked, half working strange apps like one that presumably follow where you are looking at and scroll accordingly. Ugh. Maybe its for those whose hands are busy looking at something on big screen... then again it will be hilarious as their porn will automatically scroll and already I can imagine how comical it might be..![]()
As the rumors and leaks foretold, the GS4 has a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a 1,920x1,080-pixel screen resolution. While it isn't exactly edge-to-edge, the smaller bezel makes the screen feel more expansive. At full brightness, the display's 441ppi pixel density looked rich and crisp, but I'll need to compare it with the BlackBerry Z10, iPhone 5, and others to really get a lock on just how sharp it is.
Apple already did. Because Apple only uses functions that works and is usable for daily use.Apple is going to have to really innovate with the next iPhone to compete with these impressive Android devices.
