Unbreakable is the new Unlimited. Unlimited data is now throttled. I am sure this so called unbreakable glass cracks. There is always a catch.

The "unbreakable" certification is a joke.

Some years back, Panasonic came out to demo their Toughbook with a certified "unbreakable" display. The lady was explaining how it can withstand a drop from 6ft without issue, and dropped it from her shoulder height, which was maybe 5'2". Laptop hits the ground, screen snaps off, flies, and cracks. She looked mortified. Apparently "unbreakable" is still fairly breakable.

I would be interested to see a ruggedized Mac laptop for military, first responder use.

It's just a milspec test, similar to how they drop Lenovo laptops. Very common, yet does NOT mean that these are meant for military. The temperature tests here are key. This is likely a play for cars more than anything, because then OEMs don't have to worry about day/night seasonal and hot car fluctuations damaging the display.
And don’t forget milspec is usually the lowest price supplier that passes “most” military standards tests. Just a note for people that don’t understand that milspec doesn’t mean the absolute best.

Case in point...SIG P320 with it’s defective design that is now a standard issue sidearm. The problem has since been rectified....supposedly. But I still carry the SIG, myself.

I'll take unbreakable but scratches then both breakable and scratcheable like my X. It's an improvement, plain and simple!

Interesting point. An unbreakable smart phone display really doesn’t appeal to me, because the majority of smart phone users use cases anyways or if you have someone like myself, I have *never* broken my smart phone display by dropping it. If a display was offered that can’t scratch, that would be more appealing to me, as I don’t use screen protectors, although I do think smart phone displays are fairly durable for what they are.

All those people claim that Samsung copies Apple eat humble pie!
No anytime Samsung come up with an idea first people will ridicule it until Apple decide to do the same thing. Then we will get told that Apple don’t do it first, they do it right. Or even better we will be told that actually Apple have been working on the same thing for years and that Samsung are just doing a rush release to get it out before Apple.
