jimmy kimmel convinced a bunch of people that his knock off goo phone was the new Iphone 6 and with in a couple minutes they were all claiming how much faster it was lol

My friend was asked on the street to partake in one of Kimmels interview skits, it's all fake mate.

I'm getting sick of these adverts, not just Samsung but from other competitors. [...]

Apple perhaps did start it with the [...] But [...] Apple was generic about it, they didn't target specific manufacturers or particular devices. Just shows how desperate the competition must be if they're always attacking specific Apple products directly.

Apple trashed specific companies and specific products pretty much from the beginning. They always "attacked" their competitors directly.

I don't understand why this is all of a sudden unacceptable behavior for Apple users.

Remember?

vs. Intel Ad

vs IBM Ad

vs Intel Ad

vs Microsoft Ad

I like Apples product better that's why I buy it, but Samsung has a right to go against them.

Very clever, I see what you did there. I'm presuming your school never taught you understanding, tolerance and the fact of life that everyone makes mistakes ;)

Actually, what I did here was what the Samsung ad did, make the opposition look bad. Its ok for Samsung, but not for me?

In fact, based on the jibes on this thread, my comment was light hearted, just making my point in the manner Samsung did, and it appears to have succeeded.

To anyone who seriously prefers a Samsung over a well crafted & designed iPhone... What's wrong with you? Why do you prefer a lag'y ugly piece of plastic?

And that would be why you don't work in marketing for a multi million pound company.

Carry on ;)

Because when they did it, it was clever / classy or had great humour. When Samsuck does it, it's always just cringe worthy.

I do love these threads.

Pure entertainment watching all the Apple fans get upset! Calm down people!

Lets turn it up a notch shall we - "So it was ok for Apple to do it in the Mac vs PC ads?" ;)

Dave, you sure must work for Samsung, based on how upset you get when Samsung gets bashed by Apple fans on here :p

By the way, the customer service for Samsung in the UK sucks. The only thing I really wish they could copy Apple.

Wow brand new thing has diffrent stuff from year old thing from completely difrent company. Personally I donl like android, or samsungs consumer products. If Apple suddenly stopped making stuff I'd rather have an HTC one M8 windows edition and a surface 2pro or 3 than touch androud with a barge pole

TBH there isn't anything wrong with a Samsung phone. Yes its plastic, but you should have it in a case anyway like all of my iPhones have been. Yes it needs a multi core CPU as its not optimised but it has a big battery to cover that. The OS is the issue, especially now that Apple is finally doing a post SJ catchup on the feature set. iOS/Yosemite I feel will be a big step forward.

Good on 'em. They managed to scrape together a dozen or so people who would actually buy it.

Stay out there all day and you'll also find a dozen or so people who would actually buy this monstrosity.

Just proves they have patience, rather than anything about the product.

Do you decide how to spend your $X00 based on what random people you don't even know say, on TV, in a Samsung ad, or on what people you know and respect say (in addition to considering your own actual requirements)?

Now I've liked most of their previous adverts but this advert is silly. All of those people are actors who are being paid so it's completely pointless.

Good for Samsung

Look, we all know that Samsung is a shameless copycat. But they don't generally make substandard technology. People have made some negative claims about the Galaxy Tab S that I can't verify. But by now, Android has mostly caught up to iOS, and the GTS is probably a fine tablet to have. If you don't already have an investment in iOS software, or you want a second tablet, and you like it, get one! They're all mostly just toys anyway. Are you going to say the iPad isn't used as a toy 90% of the time?

A phone is less of a toy. But I'll be honest. I buy an iPhone out of sheer laziness. I have Apple computers (because I like MacOS X way better than Windows, and I've gotten burned too many times by Linux on the desktop, and I also think Apple hardware is solid). So I get an iPhone, because it's just easier. I also get an iPhone because I don't have to think about it. I have so much other stuff I have to worry about (mostly family and work) that I just don't want to take the time to figure out which phone is "best". The best phone is some Android phone. The worst phone is some Android phone (or perhaps Palm). If I do a ton of research, I'll get a bunch of conflcting reports on which phone is best and probably end up with something near the top, assuming the store actually carries that model (which with my luck they won't). If I DON'T do the research and I just go buy whatever the sales guy offers me, I'm very likely to get a piece of garbage. On the other hand, if I get an iPhone, I'm assured of getting a pretty good phone that will work well for my needs. And I didn't even have to think about it.

I can use the time I saved to teach my kids reading, math, ... and time management. With limited energy, you choose your battles.

i can easily act in one of these ads if they are giving the Galaxy tab for free.

i can dump it and get the iPad Air :D:apple:

Funny! In fact its probably got truth in it, I know many that switched to WP and switched to other Android phones.

My phone doesn't lag, nor is it ugly to me. Aesthetically the iPhone is the better looking device but I value substance over style.

Absolutely. I scour the internet hour after hour, day after day looking to defend Samsung for a small pittance!

Seriously, you can predict the replies in threads like this without even having to look!

Personally I enjoy rivalry between companies. Everyone wins in the end.

Partially agree regarding support. Ive only had one device fail on me, the Samsung S3. Samsung phone support was great, however their retail unit was 3 hours away, so not an option just to pop in and get the matter sorted. Had to send it off and took about a week in total to get resolved.

When you have a choice between a bag of **** and bag of gold, what choice is there really?

Bag of gold obviously. Thats why I dont choose Apple. ;)

this is getting boring… Samsung need to change the strategy to a more tech one or a more luxury one if they want to shine more than Apple products.

I would say that you buy a proper computer for a multitasking.

iPad was designed to have single task at the time which helps people to be more focused and productive. It's got its purpose...

I don't usually subscribe to calling people iSheep, but to say a lack of multitasking "helps people to be more focused and productive" was pretty funny to read.
