So, instead of focusing on the kid and using the app to play with the kid, meaning quality father-son time, the dad wants to split the screen so the kid can have the kid app, and he can have his dad app and they can ignore each other?

Am I missing something in this message?

Oh, yes, and Apple's "parenting" tv ad shows the parents all focused on using kid apps to play with the kids, help the kids, engage the kids.... Hmm....

The problem with these adverts is that iPad/iPhone users are being labeled by Samsung as idiots. Would I buy any product of a company that called me stupid? No!

I agree. That's the important distinction between Samsung's ads and Apple's classic Mac vs. PC commercials that so many people fail to understand.

In Apple's commercials they weren't calling PC users stupid, they were calling PC's stupid products. Samsung is calling Apple users stupid.

BIG difference.

This is honestly the worst commercial I've ever seen. Who shares an iPad with their infant? Why doesn't he watch the sports on the TV or the baby watch the show on the TV? If you have two shows on one device not only is that going to kill the battery, one of them will have no sound. Stupidest commercial I have ever seen :(:apple:

So you want a single tech company, Apple, to dominate the whole world.

....are you a communist?

IMO, current AMOLEDs are superior to LCD. However an iPad Airs screen is hardly terrible, and I highly doubt you'd miss an entire character in a movie on an iPad's IPS LCD. Not a fan of these ads though. The iPad is a better, more thought out product. Ecosystem, build quality, and app quality are significantly more important than a pretty screen.

At least my iPad holds up!

I previously owned a Galaxy Tab tablet that simply bricked after a year. The onboard factory reset also didn't work and I simply threw the piece of garbage in the garbage. I bought the Samsung product because I didn't want to spend the price of an iPad and it ended up costing me more than if I had done the smart thing the first time!

I have since upgraded my iPad 4 to an iPad Air, both of which I use for work, and I couldn't be happier. They have made such a difference for my business that they have truly changed my life.

Okay, another watch

What kind of jerk do they choose to establish split-screen is indispensable? A father and his baby sharing a tablet. Sorry, Daddy's tablet is on the shelf, where the baby can't touch it, and he's got an iPad mini. WiFi. For kids' stuff.

I myself am totally skeptical about the use for this "feature." It certainly won't be useful for a father to follow the stock market while his kid watches a cartoon. Who does that?

Note one: real stories, please, not phony ad stories to make a point. No child and father have ever or will ever use their tablet that way. If you're trying to show, "what a great feature," you didn't do it. A cute kid and his dad. An unbelievable situation, just for laughs.

The second one is about the screen. I haven't seen it, maybe it's great. It's more than 1080p. Hard to advertise that on 1080p, because everything looks the same as your maximum resolution. So you can't just blow people's minds the way it happens when you see 4K in the stores. So they talk numbers and technology. That means something to engineers and workers in the electronics industry, whoever has seen it. I've seen 4K, and I really like that, but just spouting a bunch of numbers that don't mean a thing to 90% of the audience, all they hear is "Super Amo-something."

Awww looks like dad's tablet is a big boy tablet, not a plastic child's toy with malware with about 0 cool or even remotely usable apps.

Samsung is classless

They should be kissing Apple's butt for giving them all their ideas. They're just a copy cat company and one without class or grace. Anyhow, split screen is personally not a feature I thing is worth anything. I know apple will come out with it, but personally I think it's largely a gimmick. Apple doesn't need to bash anyone in ads. They're too busy making great stuff to bother.

Sometimes it's hard to tell which is lamer, Samsung's ads or MR's reporting on them.

This time it isn't a contest. MR wins in a blowout.

Does Samsung actually plan to run this ad as a paid placement? Or is it another one of these videos (like the "Wall Huggers" spot) that they only post onto YouTube, and hope the controversy generates clicks?

Some of the comments above prove how immature some Apple fans are. Don't get me wrong: I love Apple products and think their premium prices deserve their qualities but I don't trash talk against its competitors.

Shame on you.

I also don't want to see the monopoly of a single tech company, as a consumer. More competition makes consumers happier and makes prices reasonable.

And most of the comments defending this piece of crap prove that Samsung still pays for trolling, as evidenced by the very recent join dates.

Apple already has a monopoly on the profits

HaHa.....arggg, an in the real world could you imagine sharing a tablet with a kid.

Multitasking is welcome, but not for sharing with kids...

I'd like to see that very scene on my iPad just to see if it looks as "dark and cloudy" as portrayed on the commercial.

Anybody else getting right click menu popups when they tap to play YouTube videos like these on their iPad (I have an iPad mini if it matters)? Didn't have this problem yesterday.

Jup, same here. iPad 4.

Never seen that menu and never had this bug.

What's wrong with the iPad's screen?

They are comparing the contrast ratios....Yes the iPad's screen is nice, but in dark scenes, for example, on Game of Thrones, if I don't have my iPad on full brightness it is very tough to see any action. I have to say the new screens on the Tab S is beautiful. I'd hope Apple considers this tech in a future update!

Samsung has so many things wrong in their advertising it is very shameful. On one hand they mock "wallhuggers," hmm, ironic. Considering my iPad laughs its way past 10 hours, yet I've NEVER got better than 6 hours on my Galaxy Tab Pro!

Honestly, Samsung is pulling away in Apple. Maybe not in sales, but in features and trying new things out. Same thing goes for Google. Apple is like a Microsoft of the 2000s. They have market share and cash, but don't push things. They wait and let other people try things out and push technology. Then they come in an and try to steal the market. Im sorry to say, but the true innovation and magic died with Steve. Watching and waiting on Apple is like watching paint dry. The fun and magic is gone....
