How is having an option for another form of input worse? You don't have to use it. And based on sales of 3rd party styli for the iPad and iPhone - I would tend to think many would welcome it - even if they are a vocal minority on MR

The room taken for that last decade stylus that i NEVER intend to use, I would rather have a bit larger battery or something else. I have to be honest, I have never ever seen anyone out and about using stylus since the year of this phone below

First ads by Samsung, I liked. Straight to the point and truth.

The facts are there, bigger screen, better multitasking. Definitely beats iOS on those, noted, multitasking and tiles aka Modern UI is from Windows.

P.S MacRumors audience never fails to amaze me. When Apple does it, it's okay. God forbid, if anyone else slams at Apple, all hell breaks lose. Typical of #Applefanboysshit. I love Apple for what they do well but c'mon what's up with the ignorance and coloring Apple image with retarded comments like that? I am sure Apple is ashamed to have such sore losers on their side.

I've a good selection of Apple products but I have to admit, these are good ads, very good ads.Plain and simple.

While I admit that sometimes I could use better multitasking on the ipad, showing it on the example of watching a movie at the same time as writing an email is plain stupid...

It got netflix running on my laptop while emailing, chatting, surfing. Whats wrong with that?

You are right. Your point still stands... on one leg, in a roller skate, on a hill with cross traffic. How do you, in a conversation about mobile devices, decide that your point would be strengthened by positing a TV would be a viable alternative? Is it your movie argument? There was no movie in the Note ad. It was a sports highlight. Last I checked, bringing your TV with you woud severely hamper your mobility. They don't fit in pockets. Not even cargo pants.:)

Because there is a real world beyond mobile devices. Sure, watching that viral video or quick sports highlight when you're out is handy. But if you have to be watching that movie or tv show waiting in the checkout line at the supermarket, disconnecting from your phone or tablet is something you should consider.

good times - here we go again , can't wait to see what samsung new S5 will bring to the table and the smart(phone) watch :roll eyes:

I think second screen is better option in this case. Maybe It is because I never watch a movie alone, but with my family. So that's true. However, I still believe there are much much more important scenarios for multitasking and the need to check emails during movies isn't really the pinnacle of "productivity". I think most people wish for multitasking because of work (safari/pages, mail/business apps etc)

Absolutely wrong.

No wonder there are some split-screen apps in AppStore allowing for watching video and browsing the Web / writing notes at the same time. Just a common request: transcribing a video. This works easily with split-screen multitasking. With iOS full-screen, monolithic joke? Not so.

You believe. Many other people, particularly ones that try to increase productivity, don't.

Just a mail-specific example: downloading new headers / mail bodies is essentially dead time. Wouldn't it be great to make use of that time without having to do full task switches (the only way of doing this iOS, assuming your other task doesn't get killed in the background because of the lack of the already-meager, "thanks" for Apple's planned obsolescence, RAM?)

TOUCHWIZ MULTITASKING IS GOOD. Just state the facts and move on

Asking Apple fans to admit facts? ;)

You seem very angry about something that doesn't affect your life in any way shape or form.

He's furious because his beloved Apple doesn't have as powerful and useful extra features as competing platforms. Now that the competition not only caught up but even provides highly useful features simply not available in iOS devices (not even via jailbreaking), it must very hard to be a blind Apple fanboy - no wonder some of they are furious...

lol what? Apple's idea of sandboxing every app is a much better idea? You picked a very poor, and wrong, example.

Sandboxing does have its advantages (security). However, its current shared-access implementation (that is, the lack thereof) is seriously lacking and the only way of sending content between apps is ridiculously bad because of the size limitation (200M, ruling out quickly transferring for example videos to another player) and the technology (copying).

No wonder my symlinking hacks to allow for true shared access on JB'n devices are so popular.

MS did respond to the Mac V PC ads - with a page entitled - "why a PC is better than a Mac" - my son and I used to laugh at it a great deal. Sadly it's gone now (at least I can't find it on MS site), but some of it's points were:

Macs can take time to learn.
The computer that’s easiest to use is typically the one you already know how to use. While some may say Macs are easy, the reality is that they can come with a learning curve. PCs running Windows 7 look and work more like the computers you’re familiar with, so you can get up and running quickly.
Macs might spoil your fun.
There are some things you simply can’t do out of the box with a Mac like watch, pause, rewind, and record TV like a DVR.
It’s showtime.
You can’t get a Mac that ships with a Blu-ray player, TV tuner, Memory Stick reader, or built-in 3G wireless. You can with PCs running Windows 7.
Macs don’t work as well at work or at school.
If most of the computers in your office or school run Windows you may find it harder to get things done with a Mac.
Macs don’t like to share.
At least half the fun of having a computer is sharing the stuff that matters to you with other people. This is harder to do on a Mac.
Macs might not like your PC stuff.
Plain and simple, if you’re a PC user, lots of your favorite stuff just might not work on a Mac. With PCs outselling Macs 10 to 1, the reality is that most computer software is developed to run on PCs.
Macs don’t let you choose.
PCs give you a lot more choice and capabilities for your money. You can get the PC you want, in the size and color you want, with the features you want. You just don’t have as many options with a Mac.

Some of it was even true.

We used to wonder who at MS had the job of maintaining that page - always felt sorry for them!

I can't stand either companies but I will say Samsung really has no sense of originality and style.

Samsung started the bashing back in the Galaxy S II days and only emphasize on the bigger screen. Same boring designs. Same redundant Apple bashing commercials. Yet Samsung will bash Apple and then follow suit with a fingerprint scanner and gold colored options. Apple didn't come up with it first but Samsung seems to follow others like revamping TouchWiz, water/dust resist on flagships like what Sony did last year, and going for a flat icon look. They have no sense of originality or style the way Apple, Sony, HTC, and even Motorola and Nokia have had for years.

Samsung is a copycat company. The Microsoft of today. Boring. Bland. Generic. Redundant. Milking the design and name with other variations. I expect another design disappointment with their S5 next week.

Whats the bet iOS 8 (or 7.1) will have true multi tasking?

We already know MS is working on Office for iOS.

It's a commercial; get over it. What do you expect them to do? If this was an Apple commercial doing the same thing to Samsung would you have the same comments? If your playing a online game with someone wouldn't you expose their weaknesses? The way I see it it's Apple's turn to respond back. This business is huge money and cut throat.
