So reading these post AND watching the videos posted is not a very good user experience? Go on, I'm learning a lot here....

I don't see the need to get a full fledge computer to do something I'd consider trivial this day an age.

If you know about Apple's mindset when it comes to multitasking on mobile devices, you would know that they are very sensitive about preserving battery life. The depleted battery leads to a bad experience. Your full fledged computer doesn't have this issue.

LOL ' Love watching this ad holding with one hand and I'm comfortable with this ...
oooow ' 5.7 ? wait I need my other hand ' but ... but .... I can't make some work with this two busy hand ' I'll go back to my 4inch with one hand while doing something ...
MULTITASKING :))))))

Apple's desktop computers didn't have real (preemptive) multitasking for a long time, either. Or even any kind of multitasking at first.

I think that in general, Apple likes to start simple, and stay that way as long as possible.

As once Jobs, stylus? Yuck

Jobs was a salesman. He dissed what his products did not have (right up until they did).

In real life, we don't use just fingers to draw, sign checks, write notes, paint pictures. We use writing and drawing instruments like pens, pencils, crayons, brushes.

Styluses have been and still are one of the most popular and abundant iDevice accessories.

Apple sells styli in their stores and at least one kit in their online store.

What other companies like Samsung and HTC include are not just dumb fat stylus (as in finger replacement) support. Instead, they include active pen support, such as Wacom digitizers, in addition to finger support.
Best of both worlds.

Not a fan of these types of ads where you compare two products like the Microsoft Surface vs iPad. I like those where it focuses solely on the product and makes it with some good music or emotions.

But the message is kind of right.

One size doesn't fit all and when Apple comes up with a thinner, lighter device everyone is like wow.

Samsung and competition pushing Apple harder now is a good thing and vise versa (Galaxy S5 getting fingerprint scanner after iPhone 5s).

I still remember everyone panicking over their 5s compass. People were swapping phone after phone for nothing. Ended up being a software fix. I think iPhones are worst because people expect perfection from Apple products. I even swapped my wife's iPhone 5 because of a nick in the metal and I swapped a 5s for screen lift. Even the white box replacement had more than 3 dead pixels. Just look at this forum for all the problems people have. So don't pretend that iPhones are perfect. Everything has issues thus why we have warranties.

I agree iPhones are not perfect but there's nothing better outhere yet

Having both the Note 3 and the 5s, I much prefer the 5s.

First, I don't have to perform hand gymnastics to use the 5s one handed. My hands are big enough that I can use the Note 3 one handed, but damn my hand gets a workout from it (6'2'' and bear paws for reference).

Second, the stylus on the Note 3 is a gimmick. It only really works for the samsung apps, and unfortunately not very well even with those. Otherwise it becomes a point and tap annoyance.

Third, the "multitasking" sucks on that screen size. I have had multiple crashes, but ignoring that fact, using two app on a small screen does not work well. Can you do it? Yes, you can. Is it a good user experience? No, it is pretty abysmal.

The Note 3 itself is nice. It has good battery life, and the screen is very responsive for an android device. Hands down one of the best screens I have used on an Android device. Unfortunately, Samsung loaded it with crap in my opinion. Way to many gimmicks and finicky features that sometimes work and most of the time cause some sort of issue. If they had this type of screen on a GS4 form factor and size, lose the S-Pen, and clean up their apps they will have a stelar phone. Until then though, the 5s is a superior all around experience.

Obviously this is just my opinion from using both phones for the last four or so months.

I giggled a bit at the iPad one, not because of the products, just the way he was describing the pencil. Doesn't make me want to buy a Samsung anything though, the commercials come off a little "desperate" in my mind.

Though, the side by side multitasking is kind of nice. Would kind of like to be able to watch a YouTube video and send a quick Text message without having to go away from it. But, I'm sure Apple with have a way to do this soon (and probably work better too, lol.)

haha i actually like these commercials, since they're telling the truth. I mean come on, its 2014 and on ipad you still cant have 2 apps on one screen at the same time.
I rarely use more than one app on the same screen on my 15" MacBook Pro (I love Expose/Mission Control) so I'm not really sure I'd want that on a 9" screen...

I love and use OSX but with phones I switched to Android and find most of their phones vastly more innovative. The pen on Samsung is also a good tool but their software is not practical to use at all, so the pen can't really be used for everyday tasks and note taking. Not like the good old Palm. Still, Samsung phones are easier to use than Iphones.

I don't see where I did any name calling. :)

I never said *you* did. Maybe if you payed as much attention to what the defenders of the ad are saying as much as you do the detractors it would become obvious what you are missing in what I posted. This is pretty much how your posts go.

I got rid of a stylus on my smartphone since HTC Tytan II .... And don't want to come back for ANY REASON.
I want to use my smartphone single handed.

You certainly going to change phone when Apple decides a larger iPhone or you. An change your statement.

I could not care more about single hand use or two hand use while I am enjoying reading website on large screen. I am not buying any iPhone until Apple release a 5 inch phone

I have to say Samsung is doing great. What goes around comes around. I guess people forget Apple's vindictive and mean ads with those "Hi I am a PC".....

Loved the ads and the very pointy natured fun poked at Apple. One in a while we need to just let loose and let others have some fun.

even if the Note was a better phone, this ad puts me off it big time. Hate arrogance and especially annoying voice which says "Hach" instead of "ach" for the letter H.

It's just getting funny now. Size isn't everything samsung.

You're right, size isn't... That's why samsung showcased other features Apple doesn't have. Perhaps you should watch it again? Seems you missed most of it.

They haven't forgotten, they just don't want to say "it's ok if apple does it" because that would be retarded, so they just pretend they forgot.

I had the note 3 and no doub screen is good it rocks but Android sucks I gave up and switched back to iPhone there's nothing like it
I love iOS
Your not alone, I know a good number that have done the switch only to find themselves back to the iPhone. There is just something about apple.....

Not sure what draws so many andriod users to a Apple enthusiast site???? Boggles the mind.

It's sickening to bring up apples old adds it's really old and tired.

Those adds were a different era and done with tons more class.

Well excuuuuuuuuuse me.

I have never seen a single person ever using a stylus on a Samsung phone. Not once, ever. I see lots and lots of Galaxy users. Nobody has ever been poking at their enormous screen with a stylus. Mostly they are running around trying to find power because their phones are all dead by lunchtime.
