Just saying the point didnt go over your head, doesnt magically make that fact vanish, as it is black and white in the thread above.... :)

No you clearly missed the point. Apple, Samsung, and almost every other company experiences issues not caught during QA. Statistically it might be nearly impossible to find some issues in a controlled environment. So in lieu of a defect emerging, it's how an organization responds to that finding.

You say Samsung didn't do its job. Ok. But Apple hasn't either when it comes to several issues over the years too. Yet some here (not saying YOU) give them a free pass for that. I can't be clearer. A shame you couldn't.

Am not discussing Apple. Illogical to do so here.

Question is whether this is heartbreaking or poor execution of business practices. Samsung execs should analyse - not cry.

The answer does not depend on Apple. Let's not degenerate to lowest common denominator levels of "logic". I have no interest in that.

I agree. Some want to distract this away from Samsung, "hey look it happens with companies too." type logic. This is strictly about Samsung plain and simple, and how inept they have been through this whole ordeal. Can't even get the replacement phones corrected properly.

Rather than rushing to put out a phone each year (applies to all device makers). Put out something awesome.

When your primary motivation is to make your board members happy. You can run with that for a while and people will continue to buy based off your name and track record. That only lasts so long though.

When I predicted that in 5 years from now Samsung would not make Smartphones anymore (as in actual phones and not components) I might have been a little too careful.....

They might not even go as far as 5 years if they keep it this way :D.

Hey Sammy...3rd time is a charm!!!

All these corporate crocodile "tears" are no use. They need to build more respect for customers

http://www.mediapost.com/publicatio...der-fire-for-its-handling-of-note-7-cris.html
....Forbes contributor Ewen Spence writes: “That there has been a failure in the design of the Galaxy Note 7 is clear — Samsung’s decision to trigger a global recall is evidence of that. But that should not be the issue that causes the most concern. To paraphrase one of the greatest political axioms, ‘it’s not the exploding batteries that gets you, it’s the corporate reaction.’” Which seemingly has been tone deaf as the story continues to erupt....
That - lack of respect for customers - is the real major failing here. I noticed that after owning a few Samsung products. Great designs, but after using for some time you find that they dont have any empathy for the customers or desire to build any long term relationships. They just churn out stuff and hope that marketing/branding can make it stick whereever, to whomever.

This must change if Samsung is to make it in consumer electronics, in this phase now where commodification is setting in, and the cheap Chinese makers can produce really competent cheapo stuff. If Samsung cannot get better organized and more customer-oriented then the little remaining high end market will be closed to them, because the bar goes up even more in that segment.

No more phoney tears and "heartbreak", Samsung - get your act together!
