First the chin is smaller than the iPhone X.
Second, the nav bar is removable. I have an S9+ running the latest OS and you can permanently disable the bar and work with gestures only. Even without a horizental line like the iPhone X has.
Lmao. The chin is not smaller than the iPhone X or XS.

Let me guess. He’s going to make another video in a month or so about why he’s coming back to the iPhone?
He showed how he used the S10 and the gestures look like crap compared to the fluidity of iOS 12 gestures. His biggest gripe was battery life of the XS Max which I don’t understand. I can get up to 2 days on a charge on mine.

XS battery life is decent but no match for Android phones with 4100mah batteries.

For those switching to the S10/S10+/S10E, what made you decide to switch from iOS? For me, I am making the switch for the software features mainly. But the hardware also is quite impressive too.

You can do far more for less of the price. If I’m paying over 1k for a phone it has to do it all and the S10 does pretty much that while the iPhone while does a great job it’s basic feature wise and does nothing more than previous iPhones.

I want value for money and not buying iPhones for the brand name

Just goes to show that there is more to a phone then the speed of the CPU. The less powerful unoptimized S10 beats out the iPhone with the A12 chip.
He also mentioned in the video that it was a difficult video to make, for the simply reason that apps on the S10 kept crashing, interrupting the filming process.

So what you are basically seeing in the video is a best case scenario after numerous attempts where every app finally managed to load flawlessly on the S10, but how many other scenarios were there where this didn't happen? Which meant that in every other test scenario, the iPhone would have ended up the undisputed winner, simply by virtue of its apps loading flawlessly when they are expected to.

Are we looking at a case where the S10 proves to be a little faster than the iPhone 1 out of 10 times, and worse the other 9 times because your apps either keep crashing or just flat out won't load?

Yes because the phone is not officially released yet, the apps are not currently optimised for the phone, it will only get even faster after once its optimised ;) Ive not had one app crash on my S9 in the year of owning it. But nice try! What you are actually seeing is a worse case scenario for the S10. I think you just find it hard to accept that the S10 is the faster phone with better RAM management.

No one else has made this statement about S10 crashing during their tests. Even a blatantly biased speed test I saw this morning. Would have been useful to include the footage he had of these crashes :)

I am simply quoting what he said. You are free to ask him to provide that footage in his comments section.

Well, for a guy who just made such a big deal of switching over from an iPhone, I guess he doesn't want to show his bias too early into the game. I expect him to eventually come back to the iPhone and make another video detailing just why he couldn't deal with android.

Which is why the iPhone XS Max lasts longer than the note 9, (if running qHD resolution) in most battery tests I’ve seen
This is the best and most realistic battery test imo and the Note 9 completely destroys the XS Max in battery life. The S10 plus will only be better and widen the huge gap that already exist.

All the battery tests I've seen show the iPhone coming last. Also you need to remember the s10 now joins the iPhone on a 7nm chipset so has a 25 percent increase in efficiency over the note 9 which was still on a 10nm chip.

One thing I do love about Samsung, there is no wanting just a simple feature...they often give me and customers what we want and more. I just want two simple things from Apple for my iPad pro....the precious 1 tb overpowered one...a copy/paste/cut real file manager with drag and drop capabilities and mouse support. I would ask for more but I rather keep it simple since Apple remains simplified in their thought processes.

In regards to the S10 to stay on topic, I will wait for the Note 10 or 11 although props to Samsung for the beautiful and innovative Galaxy S10 series...can’t be without my trusty S-pen though. The Note 9 does everything I enjoy too well for now.......I am getting the galaxy buds since those r exactly what I’m looking for in Bluetooth earbuds and the design is actually nice in comparison to the weirdly designed AirPods.

iPhone Xs Max is usually last place on battery tests.

Right. But running quad HD resolution it’s not going to win. The iPhone has the smallest battery and more pixels to push

I’ve seen a few where the iPhone wins when the note is running a quad Hd resolution.

Has MacRumors always been a spec-sheet keyboard warriors haven? I must admit, I expected it'd be the other way... irrational arguments in support of Apple. Not point-missing, illogical sympathy for the competition.

If Samsung and the competitors were any better... they'd be in Apples position. But they're not. And even if Apple screws up, they still won't be. Uninspiring products... Even under Tim Cook Apple's products are phenomenal, whether other users here agree with me or not. Haters gonna hate.

A company doesn’t fail overnight...it’s foolish to think apple couldn’t crumble if they don’t start improving. Sure the products are good but the comp are bringing in more value with products that can do more.
