no offense, but everytime a topic like this shows up.. you, LTD, and sometimes ten-oak-druid are guaranteed to show up.. always on the defense with the same responses. why do you guys take it so personal?

Probably because the responses are relevant to the same tired arguments being made again and again and again? If someone has an iPad, wants more customization options, and fails to try a 30-second jailbreak, maybe they deserve the crummy Android tablet platform.

And who's taking anything personal? I'm not.

Wasn't iPads being easy to use one of their main selling points? Now you're using it as a disadvantage to bash Androids?

No one should be supporting this; no matter how much you love and worship Apple.

I agree. Nobody should be supporting one company blatantly ripping off another company and copying all their hardwork and then trying to sell it as their own. They especially should not do it when they have business dealings with the company they are ripping off and thus had access to proprietary information that made it even easier for them to rip them off.

No matter how much anyone loves or worships Apple they should not be supporting a company doing this. It is wrong on every level and anyone who supports this blatant thievery is wrong.

Exactly! Screw Apple! Unless Apple has a lawsuit thrown at it, they'll never acknowledge the LG Parada. Den of thieves!

Or go to Android and enjoy those dozens of tablet-optimized apps. :)

Android does not need Tablet optimized software all that desperately as it supports multiple screen layouts:

Last week our customer commented that the (not tablet optimized) Android version of the app looks a lot better then the (also not tablet optimized) iPhone version — when used on a tablet.

Not everyone finds Widgets Useful, and quite frankly Samsung needs to innovate their own hardware. (let's see the Silicon Architecture, eh)?

If they are smart they are working on The Galaxy Tab 11 Redesign. Cause it's not going anywhere as 10.1. :apple:

Samsung need to innovate their own hardware? SAMSUNG?

Samsung is in fact a world leading hardware producer, with world class displays and SSDs to name a few (could've said HDDs but they "gave" that away to Seagate recently). Apple makes what part of the hardware again? Other than ******, proprietary, please-lock-me-to-death, interfaces and such. How does that hardware rank against that of Samsung?

In fact, why dont you point out the number of Samsung devices that uses Apple hardware, and ill point out the list of Apple devices that uses Samsung hardware. Guess who'll win.

(p.s. not you).

Apple makes what part of the hardware again?

They design their own SoC, but to do so, they use Imagination Technology silicon for the GPU parts and only customize the ARM designs for their CPU part.

They don't make them either, Samsung makes it for them for now, which will result in some posters claiming that Samsung's hummingbird processor is probably a rip off of Apple technology, however ignorant that may be.

Rephrase, in what ways does Apple hardware come out as more innovative than Samsung hardware? And, if im not mistaken: Did not Samsung provide Apple with most of the hardware for the iphone when it launched?

You presume that most posters here know of Samsung and their accomplishments in the different fields in which they are involved in. Don't. It's futile really. Posters here know of Samsung only through what they read here, which is highly tainted news about how "Samsung" copies Apple for all their devices, which are all perfect carbon copy clones of the iPhone, down to every detail.

Which every poster with a bit of objectivity and logic knows to be false to begin with.

The fact is, most Macrumors posters live in a closed-loop sphere in which there is only Apple. They don't read engadget, they don't read slashdot, they don't read any other technology website and they are surely not tech savvy outside of Apple's eco-system.

So Samsung's quarterly Galaxy Tab 10.1 sales will be ~100,000 instead of 100,005.

what are the differences from the US model?

No idea yet.

Maybe it has "THIS IS NOT AN IPAD" engraved numerous times around the bezel to help unconfuse Apple fans.

Or perhaps, as one jokester suggested, this label on the back:

"Designed by Apple in California. Assembled in Korea."

Sorry, feeling a bit punchy today. No sleep.

Anyway, according to Samsung Australia, they had never planned to sell the model that Apple had complained about:

"Apple Inc. filed a complaint with the Federal Court of Australia involving a Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 variant that Samsung Electronics had no plans of selling in Australia. No injunction was issued by the court and the parties in the case reached a mutual agreement which stipulates that the variant in question will not be sold in Australia."

The alternative that you implicitly suggest is that we should all support corporations that blatantly copy technology instead of innovating. How is that a good idea?

So why do you own Apple products. The shiny-white of their tech is not just there to attract the drooling masses, it gives them a nice clean corporate image, which is about as far from the truth as ANY corporate tech image today. Every company has copied another..

Need I remind you of Steve Jobs' own words:
"good artists copy, great artists steal"

I got +'s for that post. It's you who should re-read my post.

Of course you did. Pat yourself on the back for that. The Apple haters are thick as thieves in here.

Why, there's one now.
