I've felt the same way, but at the end of the day, when they do pull back on limitations, it is with polish and refinement. Many features I have tried on the Tab and Xoom are half-baked attempts implemented to bolster their spec sheet on their Best Buy display

Funny, that's what I feel about many Mac products. Remember when "shuffling" your songs was innovative?

You just stated it like a fact, and he's clarifying it for you. You should thank him instead of being pissy just because you have differing opinions.

Differing opinions are great. But I'm not going to thank him for ****. I said the word "paying" referring to a great number of things, he retorted with a pedantic statement about the cases not being settled, and then said "And well, is only your opinion that is a blatant copy.". What does that have to do with anything? They are still having to deal with the suits. They are still paying attorneys. They have still had an injection placed on the 10.1 in Australia. They are still going to have to deal with their business relationship with Apple. They are still "paying", period. None of that has anything to do with my opinion over whether I think Apple is correct. My original statement stands.

And you're forgetting that before saying that was your opinion I thanked you the clarification about "paying". Or did you think that was sarcastic? Because it wasn't.

I didn't forget anything. That too has nothing to do with anything I wrote. I said paying, you commented as though I was talking bout penalties, I clarified, you thanked me and said "it's just your opinion" as though that nullifies the reality of the situation (there is no opinion to be had about the fact that Samsung has to deal with this ****), and finally slinky199 jumped in and said I was being pissy because of differing opinion. You and I didn't even have a differing opinion to begin with. You just misinterpreted what I said, and then said something else which I thought was completely irrelevant to the exchange.

Flash, 4G, SD slot etc etc
Flash is vastly better on the Xoom since 10.3 and the Honeycomb 3.2 update and additionally the SD Card works now which has boosted the storage in my Xoom to 48GB 32 + 16GB SD card. Very handy.

The 4g update has been a total fiasco I agree but being a Wifi Xoom owner in the UK, it hasn't affected me thankfully. Things have got better thanks to updates in the land of the
he xoom! :)

Motorola's support outside the U.S has been horrid I must add.

That proves my point. They advertise: Get the Xoom with 4G*, an SD Card Slot**, Flash***! None of which were functioning at launch

I can only talk from my perspective but Flash worked day 1 in the UK, the site I bought mine from advised that the SD was going to be enabled at a later date which it has been.

As far as the Tab 10.1 is concerned (which you mentioned earlier alongside the Xoom none of these features were missing.)

The 10.1 has:
Flash support thanks to Android 3.1 at launch.
No SD card slot at all to enable.
4G built in if you buy the 4G model from Verizon.

None of the CDMA Xoom's issues apply at all.

No. You made a post that needs clarification, and is blaming others for misunderstanding. Seriously, stop being pissy. Your swearing betrays your feelings. Go outside for a bit.

Why do you think that patents are bs?

Especially software patents are only useful for large companies with deep wallets that can afford to sue the competition out of business.

Simple example: Apple stole the user interface for iBooks from Wil Shipley's "Delicious Library". Did anyone here see Wil Shipley sue Apple? No. Because as a one man company the costs of the lawsuit would have ruined him before he would have seen the end of it. But would you see Apple sue a small company out of business if that small company came out with a competing product? You can bet your sorry butts on it.

Software patents and the high costs behind defending yourself against lawsuits are the reason why many European software companies are already pulling their products from the US market. Only big bullies like Oracle, Apple and Microsoft can survive in that sick legal system that they have lobbied for all those years - their war chests are full and they use them like clubs.

The truth in the real world is that patents do not protect one's innovations, they are usually used to PREVENT others from innovating.

While copyright laws are a justifiable necessary evil, patent laws are a disease that must be exterminated by all means.

Having an iPad 2 and, over time, noticing the infuriating Apple-imposed limitations it has, I will seriously get a Samsung Tab for my next tablet. I've had it will Apple ham-stringing it's devices. "it just works" ain't good enough anymore.

Jailbreak. Seriously, it takes 30 seconds.

Or go to Android and enjoy those dozens of tablet-optimized apps. :)

I had flash on my Desire and it was perfect, also runs great on my Sensation. Apple are full of crap about it not working on mobile devices.
