"Samsung is experimenting with multiple folding designs to figure out what kind of fold works best with a smartphone/tablet hybrid."

This to me, screams that Samsung didn't engage in exhaustive usability testing and rushed to get first to market.
I guess Apple did the same with the bending iPad Pros?

It’s a nonissue that was blown out of proportion. Where are the reports of bent iPads now? We haven’t gotten any news since last year. It’s alarmist clickbait by theverge, nothing more.

How about a foldable iPad? Any iPad with the screen >10" should be foldable. Something like this:

Also, how about a Mac with a built-in roll-up screen (like LG rollable TV) and speakers?
- Small box, like an Apple Watch box, should be become a Mac Mini.
- Medium size should be an iMac.
- Large size becomes a real Apple TV. If it hangs upside down, it can be used in a conference room. A touch screen would be even better!

Was not click bait. Apple responded to the issue and said iPad Pro's may come shipped with a slight bend, but its ok because it's not a defect. Wouldn't even fix it for free. This site reported on it twice.

Came here (late) to say this. People talk about Apple using customers as beta testers—they don't have anything on this. Already talking about defects on $2000 devices before they even ship? Wow. This is why Apple waits until things are ready. Not always perfect, but ready.
Please tell me you’re joking.
Just how far from perfect do you mean? If you’re talking about the delaminating Macbook screens for example they weren’t perfect or ready. Doesn’t appear that they tested them for that long at all, pretty sure lots of users will feel they bought a beta device.

Theverge intentionally misquoted what they claimed was a statement issued by Apple, and this forum went crazy over it. Then Apple issued a statement, and it turned out to be nothing like what was reported. But instead of acknowledging the error, this forum chose instead to stick their head in the sand, as the critics are wont to do over any negative piece of Apple news.

I said my piece back then and I can’t believe I am still having to address it right now, even when we have stopped getting reports of bent iPads and the media cycle has moved on to the next piece of Apple clickbait news.

Bottom line - Apple never said that bending iPads were okay, that you could have them replaced at an Apple store if yours came defective, and a slight bend of up to 400 microns (which would have been invisible to the naked eye) was considered natural and part of the manufacturing process.

I am just surprised Apple hasn’t revoked Theverge’s press access by now.

Not too surprising. I think Samsung executives realized the Fold was obsolete the moment Huawei let journalists touch and use the Mate X.

Until production units become available and along with the crease on convex shape, that arc to bend over a component with over 100 moving parts = the falcon wing; you’ll see digitizations issues full scale.

If you have to admit fault for a hardware defect BEFORE the product is even released, you’ve clearly failed.

Do you mean like Windows 10 and installing a USB Printer? ;)

just in case we have a new page is called samsung rumors
samsung is inovating, don't believe me
do you know about samsung new cordless tv?

well I'm sure apple will implement that technology soon
probably by 2022
lol

please Tim go away you are destroying apple
let's just wait until they start running out of money
it will take some time because they have a lot of money
but eventually once they go on decline
Tim will get in trouble and hopefully, he will be replace
with someone who cares about the costumer
not like Tim that only care about making the rich, richer
stop ripping off your own costumers, you lower product quality and increase prices
if you are going to increase price well also increase product quality

Tim will drive apple to the ground , you don't have to believe me
is just a matter of time

I believe Apple will go onto become even bigger and more successful than they currently are.

But of course, neither of us has any way of proving our claims, so we only let time be the eventual judge of that.

Either way - I said it before, and I will say it again.

One bets against Apple to their own detriment.

Yeah, Samsung is flat out admitting to a potential problem in their product even before it is released. But instead, they are the good guys because hey! Free replacements!

So they are bad for admitting the problem and they would be scum if they covered up the problems? Maybe it wasn’t discovered until it was to late . I would say exactly the same thing if it was a apple product.

optimistic vs realistic

I’m sure manufacturers will release foldable and non-foldable phones. It will be some time before foldable devices really become a thing, if that ever even happens.
Erm, not sure if you are quite familiar with what a product launch actually means.. but.. the galaxy fold is a thing. It exists in the real world, not just rumours on a forum. Sorry to break it to you in such a harsh way.
