Except that they aren't good. The stupid eye scanner still requires you to pull the phone on a right angle to the eyes, the face scanner can still be fooled with a photo, fingerprint on the back right below the camera. So yeah, I still prefer one that works great then three mediocre.

They’ve combined the iris scanner and face unlock together so it now works better and intelligent scan can’t be fooled by a photo now. Face ID is better but the 3 methods on the S9 are good enough now.

Aside from the Samsung and iPhone differences between the phones, consumers really choose which *ecosystem* they prefer, either iOS or android. But I think the main reason why iOS has a significant adoption rate because of the extended iOS support and security features.

Apple also spend a fair bit on advertising too and give a lot of their products away to sports stars and pop stars and their products get featured on popular TV shows.

I don't understand why so many people online act like that video of those guys bypassing the iris scanner is still viable today. Samsung stated ages ago that they will fix the vulnerability that allowed that method to work.
There is no other proof on an Iris scanner vulnerability beyond that exact clip. Doesn't that seem strange?

I think the intelligent scan on the S9 is really good. It easier to use than the iris scanner on its own but is just as secure as the iris scanner. It can’t be fooled with a picture.

I really did -- actually bought two cash-and-carry.

I know that the A9/M9 pair is shared with the 6S. But my point was more on the TouchID technology (Gen 1 vis. Gen 2), and the front camera (not that we care for selfies).

As I said before, I believe now that the SE line is going EOL as my fav. 4-in form-factor is seen as unacceptable by single-mobile-device users.

This isn't just subjectively noticable, but any single measurement that can be measured about display quality has said that the iPhone X is one of the best displays ever on a smartphone. Both the S9 and iPhoneX screens are bloody amazing and are nearly imperceptibly different.

The S6 display is still damn good, but it's not in the same class as the new AMOLED's samsung is capable of today.

I think the mobile-review.com article was mentioning the screen tech. Newer screen from Samsung S7,s8,s9 are much more advanced than Iphone X. E.g. support AOD, advanced dynamic brightness/contrast (which can lit up certain area of the screen - not just bump the brightness up for whole screen like X), much higher resolution than X, curved screen, higher peak brightness....so NO, Iphone X doesnt have recycled screen from S6 like some of you seems to think...but more the tech capability of IPX screen can only match up to S6 generation screen.
