Samsung Investing $4 Billion in Austin, Texas to Boost Smartphone Processor Production

Based on my trip to Austin last week, the city needs more freeways before it needs new jobs. :(

I've lived in Austin since 1977. We have always had a traffic problem. Lots of growth.

Problem is where to put a new freeway. There's a loop around the west and another around the east. But north-south, no place to put it. And I35 gets a lot of traffic. And it's bad when UT is out. But in the winter it gets even worse. Everybody just learns to cope.

Price to pay for living in Austin. And it's worth it. Especially if you're young. Great music and night life, good food, lots of parks and pools, great bike trails. And probably to anyone reading this - lots of high tech - good paying jobs, and very liberal town. And an unemployment rate of just under 5%.
