I don't understand all the folks coming on and trashing Samsung for this promotion. It's a phone! Who cares. If you don't want to try it, don't. If you do, go ahead a get it (if any are still available).

I have been all Apple since the 90s. I love what they make and hate some of their decisions. My niece's fiancee has a Samsung phone that he loves. I have no idea which one it is but he's happy with it. Does it really matter? I will admit, when he shows me pictures on it, the screen is very nice.

I agree that at the end of day competition is good for consumers. It's interesting, though, that Samsung & Apple aren't willing to settle some of their legal differences and compete in a more healthy way, especially considering they still do business together. Doesn't Samsung make the processors for iPads and iPhones? Which means they essentially still benefit from their sales, right?

I guess we'll see how the promotion works out. I personally think they'd be better served by catering to their longtime loyal customers, because it seems many are unhappy with some of the recent changes they've made to new models and are ready to jump ship. No removable battery and SD might have been necessary to make devices thinner, but the fact that subpar battery performance on the S6 is a pretty standard complaint from users surely isn't helping the transition.

As usual, I'm too late. They are all out of phones. I love my iPhone but have so many friends that love their Samsungs, I'd really like to try one. This would have been a great opportunity to try it just to see how they compare.

Yes, but any lawyer can throw that out based on the other point. See how it creates a loophole?
I disagree. The second point is referring to getting a new replacement and therefore a new 30 day trial if you are 21+ days into your current trial. No where does it mention you are stuck with a broken device. You just don't get a new one. You send back the faulty one and call it a day. Even if that means your trial ends 9 days earlier than it was suppose to.

Reactions: Demo Kit
The removable battery and memory card were the reasons for switching from iPhone, now that they've eliminated those options, there's not much reason to.

I don't think those were/are the only reasons.

True. Not the only reasons (should have been more clear), but two of the main reasons for the average consumer, I think. Definitely the memory card option was a major reason.

I think one of the biggest was the screen. Clearly that's not a differentiator anymore.

I got my confirmation email! It said to expect it by Aug 23rd, which is Sunday. So I hope I get lucky and get it tomorrow!
Anyone else get a confirmation? Mine didn't have a tracking number, it simply says UNAVAILABLE.

It will be the full cost of the phone, just because u payed $1 doesn't mean Samsung would be nice, or anyone for that matter.

It would be basically like any company, just in case the customer decides to run away with the phone and change carriers the full cost would come out anyway..

Apple does the same with their replacement programs to cover themselves.

After the charge, your go on contact.... u'd have too for 2 years to pay off the phone. so much per month. or face disconnection frees, like any carrier would.

Although $1 sounds good, u can't beat that...

That's pretty fast. I thought people wouldn't get theirs for 1-2 weeks.

As an iOS developer running into high end android devices time to time I can imagine how lost an average iPhone user will be on an android devices. So it might be full of whistles and bells, but when the interface is so different, the first month of testing won't be that wonderful.

With regards to "I can imagine how lost an average iPhone user will be on an android devices", the experience I had wasn't even close to being lost. Had it all figured out within 32 hours. That said, the experience was bad. I was stuck with that S5 for 4 months. 'Twas brutal.

I'm surprised they'd deliver on Sunday.

It says by the 23rd. I highly doubt Sunday, so I'm hoping for tomorrow. It's through FedEx.
My first email said they put it for 2 day shipping. I was thinking Monday, but the sooner the better! I'm 100% open to trying a new phone. I love my 6+, but I may make the switch as my contract is already over. :)

What does a Samsung S6 offer that a generic $150 unlocked off contract Android phone with a 5 inch screen, LTE, and stock Lollipop doesn't offer and is worth the price difference? Same OS, except the cheaper one is running stock so it's probably faster...

I got a separate email this evening saying it shipped. The email last night said 2 day shipping.
Lucky! Im awaiting mine. Ill only be able to use it for ten days or so before I leave for China but when I get back Im gonna try the note 5 then s6 edge +. It says program ends Dec 31

I was online when the program showed up, so I was one of the first.
I'm curious how much data will be allowed. I tried the T-Mobile 1 week trial last year and it was unlimited data.

I did it so fast I thought we had to choose our carrier so I did the only AT&T one left - s6 edge.

I had been using a 4 inch iPhone 5S until June. Went to 4.7 inch 6 so a 5.1 inch s6 edge will be good to test before I try a 5.7 inch phone IMO.

It's a good decision from Samsung, but I have had enough with Samsung phones and Android (terrible performance and terrible security). Both of them have to improve a lot to consider switching to Android, and that will not happen anytime soon

What kind of problems did you have with security when you had Android phones?
