Doesn't really matter.

This is the ONLY competitor Apple has that includes:
Non-slave earbud (meaning BOTH are primary); this means take any out-of-ear and the other will work. B&O Beoplay E8 2.0 cannot do this. Neither can any other true wireless bluetooth competitor
- EQ adjustment in software (Android only currently; I'm hoping Samsung makes iOS compatible EQ with same features; I'll upgrade)!
- Perfect in-ear fit ... these AirPods still have me nervous and I've purchased 3 pairs (1 for my ex-still-friend, one for my son and 1 for me).
- Better bass and mid-range response from ALL online reviews. EVEN from one of the die-hard Apple reviewers!!

I'm sorry Apple ... this is the very FIRST time I'm heavily considering Android full out with the confidence that an ecosystem is provided and will look.

Samsung is delivering on their words!
- Delivering on their promises in decent time (even with the Fold)!
- They're learning and adapting rapidly. No excuses.
- bucking the trend about being a large company that cannot adapt or deliver inspiring innovative and REAL world working products.

Apple ... it's time to step up your crap and deliver! Stop telling us what BS is in the pipeline and NOT deliver. I love and trust Apple and it's what's keeping me in their fold. I've tried the X went back to the 8. I want the XS but the price in Canada even for upgrade and the insultive trade in value of the 8 - which mine is less than 6mths protected with AppleCare+ has is not worth trade in.

I'm looking at other carriers to switch to and I MUST have solid music playback quality
.

Samsung is delivering better value in their products here in 2019 and at VERY competitive prices with compelling quality.

Dex + great health tracking + GalaxyBuds ... I'm hanging on here.

Black AirPods (even with gold metal tips that an artist prototype at launch) is NOT good enough!
I was in ear buds with full touch controls (incl of increasing and lowering volume, play/pause, FWD/RWD track, voice control with playlist control, and amazing voice quality).
I'm actually happy my airpods don't have a perfect in-ear fit, I have tried those types of buds and I found for me they get annoying. I also find I'm using only one ear at a time and they come out of and go into my ear as needed without a struggle. The Galaxy buds do sound nice and the price is right, but I would never purchase them. My heavy duty headphones are qcii, which I use when I want a comfortable non-in-the-ear experience.

To all the people claiming that Apple should do X or they will switch, I do have this to say.

Why don't you all just switch already? You will (presumably) be happier using a product you believe better suits your needs, this forum will probably be better off with one disgruntled (soon-to-be-ex) Apple user, and everyone benefits!

Users come and go all the time. No need to make it sound like you have been living in the matrix all this while and have just woken up. In the larger scheme of things, you don't matter, I don't matter, none of us matter, so just go ahead and do what you want to, and skip all the fuss and drama.

I care insofar that their incessant whining here makes the whole forum that much more toxic and unpleasant to dwell in.

I joined this place shortly after I got my 1st Apple product, an iMac, in 2011. There were dissenting voices back then, but generally, it was balanced out by an equal number of Apple enthusiasts and there was still room for reasoned, objective debate. We disagreed, but by and large, it still felt like a fairly civil spot to hang out with.

However, the anti-Apple rhetoric in this forum seems to have rapidly grown more and more acerbic and negative in the last few years. The reasons cited have varied throughout the seasons, but the underlying theme is always the same. Apple has to do something like offer a cheaper iPhone or ape a competing product like the Microsoft Surface Studio in order to match the competition or it isn't innovating, when in reality, those turned out to not be products the masses wanted.

As a general rule of thumb, it would seem that Apple has prospered by doing the exact opposite of what the critics claimed Apple had to do. The ASPs of their phones have actually risen over the years. Hybrids and 2-in-1 laptops aren't exactly dominating, and the Surface Studio remains a very niche product with its own share of shortcomings.

I still remember the extreme negativity that seemed to have taken over Macrumours last year when Samsung hinted that iPhone X sales were lacklustre, citing a drop in the sales of their OLED screens. This resulted in all the haters coming out of the woodwork to gloat that Apple was getting its comeuppance for daring to charge $1k for an iPhone. As it turned out, the iphone X actually sold very well, and the dip in screen sales was actually due to a disproportionate drop in the sales of Samsung's own mobile products.

Yet do I see any apology or reflection from them for being wrong? No. They just burrowed deep and waiting for the next piece of negative clickbait to surface so they could launch their assault renewed.

Should I not care?

This is a thread specifically about the Samsung S10. Why are you reading it?
You said in another post very recently that Samsung didn't interest you, Android didn't interest you, you don't care about either of them. So why are you reading a thread about the S10? Why are you replying to posts in this thread?

Edit : Samsung Galaxy Buds. Sorry. Still a Samsung thread. Same case is true.

Because it irritates me.

I don't really care about Samsung or Android because what Samsung does with their phones doesn't really affect how I use my own iPhone, but I do care about what I perceive are untruths regarding Apple, and the spillover effect it has here.

This is a thread here in Macrumours. That makes it fair game in my book.

Again, if these threads irritate you, don't read them. And just as people may write what you perceive as untruths about Apple, other people are writing what people perceive as untruths about Samsung. And yet, the world still rotates about its axis.

Seems to me you're one incessantly whining. It adds nothing to the discourse. We get it. You won't countenance criticism of Apple. Gotcha.
