Samsung have no values. I wish Apple would go vertical regarding displays or at least not partner with Samsung so they suffer the karma they deserve.

Enemy mine.
You're forgetting they're already producing OLED screens. They may only need to increase production by that much to meet Apple's needs. Remember, they won't be a single source supplier. The article states that the increase in production is 30k-40k screens a month. This is an insignificant amount in relation to iPhone sales. They sold 48 million phones in the past quarter.
Which is an issue that 99.99999 percent of people will never experience. The slight downside to oled is burn-in but that will probably a non issue by the time iphone starts using them.

the watch already has flexible oled. It's required for force touch.

Having just finally broken away from my Samsung shackles, I purchased an LG Oled TV- wow, almost as amazing as my new rImac. Wonder if Apple should partner up exclusively with LG, or just buy pioneer maybe.
Samsung has so much patents in oled alone thats why dominate the tv market.
Wall Street analysts have all the confidence in the world in Apple.
However, they can make money by talking Apple down, so what do you think they are going to do?
Nobody cares about the TV market, because nobody makes money in the TV market. And any OLED display used in a TV has nowhere near enough resolution to be used in an iPhone or any other current smartphone.
I'm in the 1% also... I think the reason Apple waited is because they wanted this issue to be minimized or not exist at all.I have seen badly burnt-in S6 Edge screen so guess I'm that 0.00001 then.
Will they pay it all in nickels?
Businesses generally shouldn't be run like schoolyard scuffles.
Pioneer does not make TVs anymore. Why Pioneer!Having just finally broken away from my Samsung shackles, I purchased an LG Oled TV- wow, almost as amazing as my new rImac. Wonder if Apple should partner up exclusively with LG, or just buy pioneer maybe.
Again, since the majority of the population of the world will never have this issue, it's the most non-issue in the world.I'm in the 1% also... I think the reason Apple waited is because they wanted this issue to be minimized or not exist at all.
Isn't it funny how they claim burn-in isn't an issue but it happens even to phones that are less than a year old?I have seen badly burnt-in S6 Edge screen so guess I'm that 0.00001 then.
Because it's not an issue for the majority of the population of the world.Isn't it funny how they claim burn-in isn't an issue but it happens even to phones that are less than a year old?
This is how business has always been ran and always will when money is involved.Businesses generally shouldn't be run like schoolyard scuffles.

Sure it occurs. I've seen it myself. Store display phones are on 24/7, so yeah, burn in does occur. Despite that, what the original poster stated is still true. It's not an issue for the vast majority of users. Not many people keep their phone screens running 24/7 nor do they keep it on a static page for as long as you'd see on a display unit. Todays OLED phones don't have an issue with burn in. They don't have an issue with brightness. They don't have an issue with primarily white backgrounds relative to battery life. They've also been rated the best displays regardless of tech. As with anything, tech improves over time. Apple may have decided OLED tech has progressed enough beyond the oft quoted drawbacks to use on the iPhone.Isn't it funny how they claim burn-in isn't an issue but it happens even to phones that are less than a year old?
Have you seen an OLED TV up close? How does Samsung do it in their phones?
