In a new World Cup themed ad, Samsung has poked fun at Apple's lack of a flippable iPhone while promoting its own Galaxy Z Flip4.

In the ad posted on one of Samsung's Weibo accounts, Galaxy Flip phones can be seen as fans in a soccer stadium, themed after the 2022 World Cup. While the Galaxy Flip phones are cheering and flipping in the stands, a few smartphones, clearly resembling iPhones, remain in the audience, standing still with sad emojis shown on their displays as they look around at the sea of Galaxy Flip phones. Text at the end of the commercial reads, "it's time to fold together."

This is not the first time Samsung has made fun of Apple and its lack of a foldable and flippable phones. In an ad last month, Samsung made fun of how Apple users are always waiting for new features, "because that's what we do. We wait," the ad mocks a fake Apple employee as saying.

So what the Samsung ad is saying is Apple's phones stand out in the sea of sameness? Apple's phones are unique? Apple doesn't mindlessly follow the crowd? Apple has the capability of showing a range of emotions, not just excitement?

Edit: I'm not opposed to foldable phones. I just happen to like iPhones and iOS more than phones running Android so I'm not going to switch anytime soon. If Apple comes out with one that's compelling enough, I'll consider it.

have samsung forgotten all the other mock adverts they ran only to then copy...

the notch..
the removal of the charger.

Plus... folding? Have they also forgotten the disastrous launch when the things broke and they had to withdraw the product?

Im not anti-samsung or anti choice - but when all you can do to make yourself look better is put others down... its pretty low.
AND until they can solve the crease... who wants a folding phone? Not me thanks.

I don’t want a phone that folds. It seems like a really dumb idea. Always has.

I do consider going back to flip phones from time to time. My iPhone is an iPod with connectivity to me. Limiting my exposure to people is paramount to my mental health…thank you for Focus, Apple
