The foldable screen tech isn't there yet but I invite it when it is... and when that tech is in an iPhone.
Baaa...

What's the advantage of a foldable phone, I don't get it? To use it like a laptop? Seems too small to be usable.

Funny ad. But I don't want a folding phone that's less hardy and maybe shorter, but clearly bulgier in my pocket thanks.

If I start carrying around a 5" x 5" handbag I'll get back to you...

Current apple is susceptible to these market pressures so I expect they want to release a foldable phone to compete in this space. They all seem pointless to me right now but maybe it gets right and we all have folded phones in the future. Right now just seems like a solution chasing a problem

A yes, folding a smartphone into a thick square with pocket crud in-between the displays is great.

I have yet to find any real reason for foldable phones. They don’t fit in your pocket easier, which I would think would be the only reason to change the form factor. Does anyone out there really see a reason to fold your phone? If so I would be very curious as to why this is even a thing. It seems like the only thing non-apple phone manufacturers talk about these days, besides the google pixel “magic eraser” which is just a built in photoshop feature from 15 years ago…

Stop it already omfg

The Flip style foldables are such a gimmick. At least the Z Fold has some extra practicality thanks to the small tablet sized screen. The Flip literally has no selling point over an iPhone or a regular S series phone.

Good luck trying to convince iPhone users to give up their preferred operating system for a major usability inconvenience that comes at the cost of durability.
