Samsung Mocks Apple's Decision to Remove the Headphone Jack in iPhone 7

Keep in mind that Tim Cook does not lower the price of newly introduced products that replace existing products. The fewer components that are in a product the lower the manufacturing cost.
The profit margins will increase.
There is a saying of "Follow the money." When you apply the logic of money to the removal of the audio jack, the reason becomes obvious.

This is eerily similar to the PC vs Mac hardware issues we mac users have had to "suffer through" for 20 years. We stay with the mac (or iOS) because we like the OS better than "the other OS", but we often lag behind in some of the latest hardware technology.

Almost every feature debuted with this new Samsung phone is drool worthy except the Android part. As I was reading the specs, I was saying, yes, yes, yes... All good things. When I read the rumors about the ip7, nothing sounds interesting. I sure hope the ip7 rumors are all BS.

These days, it seems Samsung appears be innovating more than Apple in the mobile phone market.
The 5.7-inch Galaxy Note7 adopts several design and hardware features of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge...
So, other than copying their own phone and adding an iris scanner (which will probably as reliable as their first fingerprint scanners), I'm not sure there is much 'innovation' here. Just a natural evolution of its predecessor.

Who sells twice as many phones as Samsung? Not Apple. Thats for sure.

No one sells as many phones as Samsung and thats a fact my friend :)

And if Apple made a ton of cheap, low-end, $100 smartphones and sold them in the second/third world and to prepaid customers in the first world they'd sell a bunch of phones too. But the phones would suck and Apple avoids making products that suck

The one complaint with the iPhone is its battery life, it can never last a full day at an event using the camera taking 4K videos and photos. If removing the headphone jack means Apple makes the phone even thinner, it will also mean it lasts even less when used for what it's meant to be designed for and will be a big fail on Apples part.
I hope it's not true, but they are so bloody obsessed with thinner and thinner designs.

But but you cant have a thin, bezel free phone with a big battery, extented memory support and waterproofing with a headphone jack?!?

"What to know what else it comes with?"

TouchWiz, which is 100% of the reason I'll never buy a Samsung Android phone. I'm just saying

I have an old Nexus 4 with Vanilla Android and a Galaxy for work. I dont even notice a difference besides additional apps being installed. Apple has its own share of preinstalled crap on iOS

Absolutely true. I think they meant "makes twice as much money as Samsung," which is pithy but may also not be accurate. I haven't looked up the numbers. But Apple definitely bring in way more profit.

Mocking a phone that doesn't exist? That's how you sell your product?

Mocking a phone that exists by the boatload in a warehouse somewhere in China. Hey, removing something that will bring a good amount of irritation to a significant number of people is a legit swipe. Sure, at some time in the future, we'll all laugh that we had to use it, but at the beginning...I'm sure if it was Samsung dropping the jack, Tim or Phil would "mention" it.
