That's not really true though it is? Look past the impressive engineering and Apple made an iPhone that turns into a bigger iPhone. That's it. It doesn't do anything new.

Samsung make a phone that turns into an actual tablet. That becomes a retro gaming dream at 4:3. That becomes a PC when plugged into a display.

When I'm spending upwards of £1500 on a phone utility > aesthetics. It either does everything or it's not worth it.

Whilst I don't doubt for one second it won't sell milliins of units the Duo is outmatched by an iPhone 17 and an iPad Mini which is about 75% of the asking price if you buy new.

To me this is a really sharp takeaway.

You got to the ground truth of the device.

It's doing absolutely nothing new via it's different design, which is a shame.

jeez... what exactly were you guys hoping it would do? yeah, I'm kind of disappointed it doesn't replicate organic materials on the spot, but it's still called an "iPhone". I think the incredible amount work and attention to detail they've put into this device and OS you're already disappointed in is exceptional. Until Apple harnesses the power of Dilithium crystals and warp drive technology, maybe we should temper our expectations just a bit, don'tcha think?

Samsung can't even make a refrigerator worth buying. How are they going to make a decent phone that won't need to be replaced after six months?

Samsung rushed theirs out ahead of Apple as a non-flagship model after many years of the old form factor. Samsung also provides the displays for the iPhone Duo. Coincidence? I think not.

Every foldable will look like this moving forward. It is the most elegant design.
Agreed. Apple’s design will become the new standard for foldable phones.
