How ironic.
Let’s not forget that Apple themselves have copied the duo name and form factor from the Microsoft surface duo, from seven years ago

The duo name, sure… but copy the form factor? No.

They outright said they chose that size because the displays have the exact same aspect ratio. They also mentioned it happens to be about the same size as a passport, which is actually an extremely smart size since it is standardized.

I enjoyed the new era at Apple with Ternus - felt harmonic, foremost.

They will.

I think Apple will too at this phase - it felt a lot more harmonic with Ternus.
So looking forward to what will happen with these phones.
I’ll wait quite a while to buy the Duo - my mini serves me well for now.
But it can be grate to NOT need to take a iPad mini with me, at certain situation.

You know I was being sarcastic? This is far from classy from Samsung.

Agreed though I like the idea of combining my mini and phone into one device!

Even looking at the comment on the replies they are getting is sad, they are getting torn apart 😂 they must keep this kind of thing up just to be in the conversation, that must outweigh the negative attention. That means they have no real motion culturally that they have to leach off apple. Very very sad and pathetic. IM glad their TV's started to disappoint me so now I'm Sony OLED, no more Samsung for me I guess.

Samsung rushed theirs out ahead of Apple as a non-flagship model after many years of the old form factor. Samsung also provides the displays for the iPhone Duo. Coincidence? I think not.

Every foldable will look like this moving forward. It is the most elegant design.

Xiaomi has the same form factor.

I feel like they are trying to copy the Wendy’s account except, they aren’t funny. I mean come up with a good line and put it out there. Trying multiple times and falling flat just looks sad. Or, do like Microsoft when the PS5 launched and Microsoft congratulated them. Be funny. Be classy. But, don’t do whatever this is.

Samsung, the legendary copycat company, has some things to say about Apple making a product, using the display tech that Apple purchased from Samsung, in a segment already filled with foldable devices. How very Samsung. The saltiness comes from Apple doing it better and adding in that special Apple marketing magic.

Samsung's foldables always had those toy-like plastic looking displays, I would assume their newer ones will have the same tech as the Duo, unless Apple only bought the panels from Samsung, and engineered the layers that make it fold with less of a crease themselves. Either way, I hope the claims about this virtually creaseless and more durable foldable display are true for the Duo.

Competition is very good - and I don’t judge either side here.

I've had Samsung phones, and they were definitely not bad at all.
But of course I much prefer to have devices that work together as in Apple’s system.

Without Samsung this iPhone would not exist. They developed the technology and are the one making its display. Apple just designed a few fancy icons, zero innovation.
What you just wrote is completely and utterly wrong. Apple has been working on this foldable for years, going back to October 2017, which was two years before the first Samsung foldable. They tend to work on a major device related to a new product category for years behind closed doors before actually releasing it, and they tend to make sure a product works well before they release it.

So, no, this device would have eventually existed with or without Samsung. So perhaps quit making up falsehoods and accusing Apple of zero innovation when they did far more than just “design a few fancy icons”.

In the end playful banter or not, apple sells more phones and will eventually sell more foldables. While mobile market is down globally apple sales are still up and will now grow in a different market with a different form factor. Wait till the screen less fitness tracker arrives

It's kind of funny how folks used to mock iPads for just being "bigger iPhones".

Here we have an iPhone who's entire value proposition is turning into an iPad (a bigger iPhone) ... and that's it.
This very well may be a cool device that was well executed. But right now it’s the shiny new object from Apple. I’m waiting for longer videos from people who have used it for more than 5 minutes in a hands on area. And after the shiny new bauble glow has worn off.

Is it biting the hand that feed you day at Samsung?
Also, correct me if I am wrong, but the fold seems WAY more amazing in terms of hardware/software integration than the other fold-phones...?

Ever so often, Samsung reminds me of that jilted ex-lover who just cannot let go.

I don't even think about them or their products. I guess this is pretty much the only way they can insert themselves into the conversation and keep themselves relevant.
