Nah, I was wondering if Samsung loosened its restraints up a bit because of the S8/S8+ success since they prevented another Note 7 from happening.
 
Erica gives her input. Pretty much says what some other Youtube reviewers have said; the Note 8 isn't just a S8+ with a SPen. It's no coincidence that the Youtube tech reviewers, who are actual Note users, seem to be the only ones who get this. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting on Samsung Canada to tell us what us previous Note 7 customers will be getting as a discount. I know we're not the biggest market, so we don't get the same priority as the USA, but at this point, I'm close to just putting in my pre-order with Best Buy. 😡

My Canadian family members are going through the same issue with waiting for that discount. I think you guys might get like $500-$600 off because of the currency difference. Definitely worth trading in like an iPhone 6 or 6S towards the Note 8.

So by reducing the Note 8 rendering at 1080p is actually reducing the workload it has to do over what the iPhone 7 plus is actually rendering.

It would be fairer turn UQHD on the Note 8 if we are comparing rendering workloads.

Likewise what is the point comparing a fall 2017 device to a fall 2016 device ? Surely if you are going to compare it should be like for like rather than current generation to last years generation. These tests are flawed on so many levels.

Well, people compare the 2016 iPhone to the 2017 Samsung Galaxy because that's what they can buy right now.
 
I've decided I want to keep my S7 Edge as a back up, so no need to wait on the discount announcement in Canada. I'm gonna just pre-order an unlocked Exynos version. Just gotta make sure it's compatible with my carrier. I'm thinking it should be considering my S7 Edge is Exynos.

Waiting on my shipping confirmation as well. I ordered via AT&T about an hour after preorders went live. Order still says the 4th as an estimated ship date but it will probably go out tomorrow.

Yeah I think we are in the same position. Ordered min day of preorder and shipping date says the 5th so hopefully I will see something tomorrow.
 
I think the extra ram from the S8/S8 plus is not getting enough credit here. During everyapplepro video of the speed comparisons you could see the differences the extra ram made compared to the S8. It beat iphone in a few areas that the S8 didn't and that was ram affected. So yes the camera, S pen and ram does make it better than the S8 but if somebody had an S8/S8 plus not sure they would be a good idea to upgrade not for £200 more but it all depends what works for you. Note 8 is phone of the year contender for sure. I will be getting the new iphone but note 8 will run it close.

Played around with it yesterday... WOW it is big!!!

I compared it to my S8 and the size difference doesn't seem that huge, but in hand the Note 8 genuinely feels gigantic.

PS - That's not a judgement, just an observation.

It is so big, but one of the reasons I am in love with it. Honestly it's going to be great for me! (At least until I need to discreetly use it lol)
