Biggest doesn't always mean best. :) As I remember, Samsung ssd's and lcd panels were the desirable ones in the Macbooks not too long ago. But Apple is far wiser than I, so if they have the confidence in TSMC, they are comfortable in their choice. For we the consumers, I hope it all works out as intended.

In other words, you didn't even read the article where it explicitly claims TSMC was coming along better than Samsung and you don't know the industry at all but still wrote something negative about Apple as usual.

And now you're trying to justify that by writing something vague about "for we the consumers". Sure.

Is it ok for someone who owns Apple products to criticize Apple the company? How did the LG lcd's work out a while back? And the Toshiba drives vs the Samsungs? Samsung has provided pretty good parts for Apple. Now a move to a fab that has had some issues and I'm biased for commenting? Apple's had some quality control issues in recent times. I hope this doesn't become another one.

It was your mildly ridiculous characterization of TSMC as a second tier supplier that got you called out on the carpet. It reeked of Samsung homerism, which tends to be a recurring theme of yours.

Oh, because you just HAVE to be a horny Apple cheerleader here or else your opinion is invalid ?

Nobody who sticks up for Samsung is allowed to be here , right ?

It's not about loving Technology in these forums , right ? Just who can kiss the most Apple butt.

Someone's angry tonight.

Right. And I made the only mildly ridiculous post in this entire thread. The anti Samsung posts weren't ridiculous for some reason. What's homerism? I'm not up on the latest terms.

It was just an observation. The fandom is thick on both sides.

I agree with you on that! See, I'm not such a bad guy. :D

I love the tech, Apple's, Samsung's, Google's, Microsoft's etc, etc. The Samsung bashing is puzzling at times since they have made some very good and reliable components for the various Apple devices over the years.

Apple would deserve criticism for going with a supplier that produce more faulty chips per die, that happens to be Samsung in this case, according to the article.

Well, 6 in general came out in 2007 , before the iPhone.

Also, you can't say that Apple would have gotten to where they were with out the development of Windows Mobile.

They deserve a lot more credit then they get.

My point was that everyone borrows and steals ideas from each other.

How do you like the notification center in iOS ? Hmmm ?

No, MS doesn't deserve a lot more credit. Yes, all knowledge is built on previous knowledge... sort of like Win Mobile being based on a response to Apple's Newton technology. But it still boils down to execution. Whether it's Win Mobile, tablets, or Windows 8, Microsoft has failed to execute, and having a good idea here and there does not a good product make, let alone a great one.

I don'y see how it possibly could.

Back to topic: What kind of phones did Saul use for "burners"? He must have used Samsung's because I never say an iPhone in there. :D

Weren't they all cheap flip phones?

Staying off topic, favorite Saul one-liner?

What if I told you that, currently, Apple copies more than others?

It's Apple that should be afraid of not knowing what Samsung and Google are going to do.

Have you seen iOS 7? I'd count how many parts of that OS is a copy of Android, but it'd be a waste of my time.

Just not true .... And iOS 7 has nothing to do with Android.
So don't waste your time in such a ridiculous matter.

Apple surely is not afraid of Samsung ....

----------

Maybe. But Samsung senior management seemed to be mightily surprised by the fact that the chips they were making were 64-bit.

It seems that that didn't leak, so maybe things aren't quite the sieve that was supposed.

Maybe they did know, but weren't able to catch up anyway ....

----------

Android ripped of IOS totally

Nuff said

You are true, but let android supporters dream about Apple copying Google, it makes them happy.
Since iOS has notification center and control panel then iOS is a rip off From Android ...... Err, Android doesn't have a separate notification center and control panel, but don't tell them: they'll be shocked.

Well first that isn't true. Second; do you really believe that A7 delivers all the performance needed in a tablet?

Apples tablets are a long ways from delivering on the vision many of us have with respect to this technology. Apple literally needs to pack more of everything into these machines, ore processing power, more RAM, and more flash storage.

Maybe more RAM would be nice, but regarding processing power and storage Apple is first class.

----------

This is Samsung moving away from Apple. No doubt so they can focus on manufacturing tech for their own handsets. Which have apparently been selling very well.

That's a ridiculous statement: Samsung moving away from Apple ...

Btw not a single Samsung high end device is selling like any iPhone ....

Dude - You really want to get into this ?

Here is Windows Mobile 5 , released in 2005 and in development since 2003

Image

Not as slick as Apple's iPhone , but clearly the inspiration. There was no such thing as a smartphone before this platform and Apple borrowed HEAVILY from their research

Inspiration ????
Did you ever use a windows mobile device ?????
Nothing, and I say again NOTHING to do with iOS or Android. In any way ....

----------

I remember the Compaq ipaq. We made the chips in Hudson Ma.
2001/2002 time frame

I owned three different iPaq ... I absolutely loved them at the time.

In your attempt to write something against Apple you just slipped .....

Don't even try to seem unbiased.
You ALWAYS criticize Apple .... Almost in every single post.

It's not a tech forum.
It's MACrumors .... If you "stick up with Samsung" (your words) there are many forums about it nd android in general where you can bash Apple's products/choice.
Doing that on a regular basis here is just trolling.
