I just got to spend some hands on time with the Note 8 and the curved edges are very tight.
It's almost a perfect squared off 90 degree angle but with a slight soft edge.

It's nothing like the S7 Edge, which I hated due to accidental touches.

As long as there's a curvature, there will be glare and edge distortion. It's about arguing degrees of bad.

Be interesting how it rates this new oled iphone.

For me, I’m most interested in Apple’s calibration requirements. Samsung obviously favors a cool, more saturated display.

This. The only kind of OLED displays that Apple are going to get from Samsung, are their second-rated ones (i.e., not getting the best ones that are already on S8, S8 Plus & the Note 8).

I sincerely doubt it. Apple will get whatever they are willing to pay for.

Apple isnt leaving LCD for low rent OLED.

Apple will most probably skim on cost by using inferior oled panel with 1080p resolution.
Will apple bump iphone resolution up or stay the same?

Current leaked info suggests 2436x1125.
