Closer to ipads,? at introduction they were priced higher than ipads.
Since you are trying to defend that apple should not put 1gb in their models, because it saves one buck or something, why is it ok for samsung, even when they are cheaper.
Is it ok for samsung to release a model phone with 1 gb in 2016?
And i mean a model they put on the market in 2016, not from earlier , but in 2016. The last 1gb iphone apple released was in 2014!
Yeah great!

Yeah the multi-tasking is from third party software. Android on tablets is substandard.

Note 8 display has "record breaking brightness" - first ever A+ grade from Displaymate for the Mobile PremiumHDR Note 8 Screen. Majorly accurate colours too.

New AMOLED Cinema Screen Mode with a Very Accurate Standard DCI-P3 Color Gamut

AMOLED Photo Screen Mode with a Very Accurate Standard Adobe RGB Color Gamut

Most high-end digital cameras have an option to use the Adobe RGB Color Gamut, which is 17 percent larger than the Standard sRGB / Rec.709 Color Gamut used in consumer cameras. The AMOLED Photo screen mode on the Galaxy Note8 provides a very accurate Color and White Point calibration to the Adobe RGB standard, which is rarely available in consumers displays, and is very useful for high-end digital photography and other advanced imaging applications.

The measured Color Gamut of the AMOLED Photo screen mode is a very accurate 100 percent of the Standard Adobe RGB Color Gamut, and the measured Absolute Color Accuracy is a very accurate 3.3 JNCD. See the Color Accuracy section and the detailed Color Accuracy Plots for the measurements and details.

The Galaxy Note8 has the newest Standard Wide Color Gamut called DCI-P3 for Digital CinemaInitiative, which is being used for 4K Ultra HD TVs and in Digital Cinema for the movie industry. So the Galaxy Note8 can display the latest high-end 4K video content. The DCI-P3 Gamut is 26 percent larger than the Rec.709 Gamut used in 2K Full HD TVs, both are compared in this accurately colorized Figure. The larger DCI-P3 Color Gamut and wider range of more saturated colors are also useful in many advanced imaging applications, including HDR High Dynamic Range (below).

The measured Color Gamut of the AMOLED Cinema screen mode is a very accurate 104 percent of the Standard DCI-P3 Color Gamut, and the measured Absolute Color Accuracy is a very accurate 3.4 JNCD, which is very likely considerably better than your living room 4K Ultra HD TV. The Galaxy Note8 is one of the first displays to reach full 100% of the DCI-P3 as the result of using a new high saturation “Deep Red” OLED. See the Color Accuracy section and the detailed Color Accuracy Plotsfor the measurements and details. Select the AMOLED Cinema screen mode using Display Settings

Should be pretty good I would say considering the iPhone 8 has a Samsung screen too.

Apple will most probably skim on cost by using inferior oled panel with 1080p resolution.
Will apple bump iphone resolution up or stay the same?

Obvious you have no clue how Apple operates.

It's a fair question in terms of the display tech. Will be interesting to see if Samsung provide Apple with the latest diamond OLED premiumHDR cert screens as seen in the Note 8, and if they up the res to WQHD+

It was more of a statement of fact (probably)with a bunch of snark, hence my reply. A legitimate question would be: "wonder what the resolution and type of panel Apple is using?" Or even some custom panels not used anywhere else.

Haha!

It's unlikely Apple are going to go for an inferior panel tbh. Samsung tech and Apple actually have a reasonable working relationship.

It will most likely be the same quality panels that Samsung sells to other phone manufacturers. It's no secret that Samsung keeps the best screen tech for their own flagship phones.

Even Google didn't get Samsung's best display so a low baller like Tim Crook won't get it.

It's also no secret you don't walk over Apple or have them play 2nd fiddle to anyone.

It already given that apple will screw Samsung over given the chance with all the posturing apple is doing with other OLED manufacturers.

So yeah, if Samsung has a brain it shouldn't play nice either and should screw apple big time while it can by charging high price for second rated oled panels.

It's not like Apple has any other choice than to go with Samsung if they want to use OLED screens for the iPhones. LG would be the only (non-viable) alternative, but LG doesn't have the production capacity to supply Apple.

This does not work like you think.

Apple has plenty of choices, they could have delayed this for a year.

But Samsung have some degree of control because apart from LG who can't make enough oled panels for Apple there isn't another supplier of high quality oled displays. It's not like the chips, where there are several companies who can make the same thing.

I believe there is more coopetition than generally assumed. But we will see.

This. The only kind of OLED displays that Apple are going to get from Samsung, are their second-rated ones (i.e., not getting the best ones that are already on S8, S8 Plus & the Note 8).
