Where do I start?
Firstly, I don't won only Apple devices, but if I do that is my personal choice, they suit me best, they work better then any other out there for me so there you have it.I have no time or money to waste with garbage that does not work well. What other people use is not my concern.
You seem to not have used streaming, otherwise you would know that you can create countless of playlists with the songs/music you like and make it available off line. Listen to it when you are in the Amazon forest (or wherever you may find yourself away from civilisation without internet) Same on Netflix. Watch any movie off line.
And just to make one thing clear, I am not forced to live without anything. I am well decided on stuff that I buy and I chose to use what I chose because it works great for my needs and has everything I need. And I have explained how things work on the argument that you brought earlier (about how you connect an Android phone device via a wire to access the files) That is so last century btw. Can't remember last time I needed to connect a phone to a computer to access anything, must have been years ago. Do all file transfer like a breeze, even between iOS and Android without having to use any wire. Doing it via a wire is very old. Things have changed a bit on the last 10 years.

Sure, as long as you live inside the apple bubble. People don't use usb-A anymore, they don't exchange files with usb sticks, they rarely (if ever) use cable ethernet, headphone jack is so yesterday, being able to re-arange your home screen is for children, who needs widgets, why would you ever want to use the only device you always carry with you as a usb disk etc. etc. Conclusion: life is good in the iPrison. Regardless, if it works for you, why not ?

As far as how much things have changed in the last 10 years, please tell that to apple as well. I've heard they recently discovered wireless charging and grouped notifications. Yay ! (of course it goes without saying that you didn't need these up until now, as well)

However, the discussion is about devices and the variety of options/usability they offer. So, guess who is irrelevant with all those "I don't need..., I don't use..., I'm fine with...".

As a side joke. Didn't you know that before ios 12, notifications on iOS 11 were still better than notifications on Android because on iOS 11 they are arranged in the order you receive them and not by importance like on Android(so phone calls at the top, then SMS's emails and so on).

I would pay upwards of $1500 for an iPhone that unfolded into an iPad Mini. Not joking.
It would cost more than a high end desktop (AppleTax and all) and have only a fraction of the capabilities.
Plus, given Apple's hardware standards as of late, it'll probably burst into flames in your pocket.

Too bad I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 and after two years it works perfectly. Nice try.

Not saying they all have issues. I just remember usually around the 6 month mark they’d have a fault that would affect a few of them. Working in a store I guess I’d see all the faulty ones.

This would be several years down the road and sold as a mass market consumer technology. Today it could cost that much but not in years.

I think you’re confused about who sells the devices which burst into flames.

Well, the important/non-important or even not shown notifications are fully customisable in android. Seriously, I was in a shock when I switched from iOS to android 2 years ago. I could not understand how apple allows this mess for so many years. It's only a piece of software, it can be fixed pretty easily.

You read a few threads here and you quickly realize how this is possible.
A lot of users here act like they work for apple and apple making more and more profits and being as less consume oriented as possible(not offering a quick charger in the box, removing ports etc.) makes them happy. Apple obviously sees this.

I'm new but it seems funny how this board attracts people that don't want to own apple products at all.

Apple isn't a monolithic company and neither are its users. There are many people on this site who use Apple computers but have issues with IPhones and IOS. There are IPhone and Ipad users who have never owned an Apple desktop or laptop.

There are professional users of IMacs and Mac Pros that have been irritated with Apple for years, lack of hardware updates, changes to software that left them hanging, no communication, etc. Then you have what I consider to be the majority of users who love Apple no matter what.

So, some of the negative responses are from people from one of the groups above. And of course, there are always people who love to bash whatever is successful.
