The new One UI 8.5 beta is available through the Members app right now. Get in before it gets filled up!
I installed it and love it so far!
Do all the Good Lock modules still work? The 8.0 beta was my first Samsung beta and it took a long while for some of them to get updated, but not sure what to expect with a x.5 release.

Does it work across watches (something I've never done); ie. can you add a watch as a linked device (Samsung watch in particular)?
I've never tried to add it to a watch, usually I just pick up one watch to wear for the day either AWU or GWU but they are linked to my phones

Someone on Android Central also said Quickstar not working
Yup, that’s definitely a must have. But I can’t even participate in the beta program… I probably won’t have access to it until maybe March and by that time Good Lock modules will be updated.

Have you across a video demonstrating One UI 8.5 on the Galaxy Fold? I’ve seen articles discussing it.. but not once have I seen a video about it.

No videos yet on Fold just S25 videos so far

How has the beta 8.5 been for anybody who has installed it?

I'm on the fence atm as beta is still open but my phone is running great currently and don't wanna mess that up!

I have an Android Auto question when it comes to either Gemini or Google Assistant. Has that gotten dumber? I ask things like tell me the NHL or NFL schedule and it only gives me three games and then that is it. Then I ask some other basic questions and the response I get is "I don't understand", kind of like the common complaints regarding Siri. I thought AI like Gemini was supposed to be an improvement over Assistant or just over what the voice thing was a couple years ago. It seems like it's getting worse. Has anyone else had this issue and is there something i can do to improve it or at least revert back to actually being a helpful assistant again?

Gemini is a poor assistant and struggles with basic tasks that Google assistant shines in. Can't you just switch back to Google assistant in Google settings?

S25U landed with me today - 512GB Jet Black version; it's very nice and glad I went for that as it has the black frame too

ESR screen protector installed faultlessly; it sits in a UAG case currently

Will get the GWU set up later

I changed it back to assistant and it doesn't matter. It's a 10 game night and it only gave me 3 games. It's the same whether I'm on Auto or not.

Really glad I've gone back to Samsung and the S25U - I've kept my 16PM for my business mobile; but side by side, the S25Us screen blows the iPhone out of the water IMO

I'll try the cameras tomorrow and see what I get

The feel of the S25U is nicer in my hands too, which aren't small - I like the Samsungs build; lighter, but feels more 'put together' if that makes sense

A bit like a BMW 5 series vs 7 series - the 5 series is put together very well; but the 7 series is on another level

Merry Boxing Day to you all ;)

Is anyone running a Z Fold 7 side by side with their S25U; or have moved to the Fold 7 from the S25U?

Been offered a brand new one at a very low/silly price and I'm very tempted by it - I only had one briefly when they first came out as had to move back to iOS as one of the authenticator apps we used at Meta was iOS ONLY - I'm no longer with Meta so I'm back to Android and my current S25U

Me. Only looked back once. Love the Ultra series but the Fold is on a whole new level.

Well I've bought the ZF7 - should be with me on Monday fingers crossed

I think I'll certainly use it more with its central screen; more so as I'm really into a few books currently on Kindle and I've got a few car magazine subscriptions too

It'll also be much easier for my work emails (my currently contract role); my own business emails and the dual-sim capabilities...

I've fat fingers at the best of times when it comes to texts and WhatsApp haha

It surprises me that after the dozens, if not hundreds of phones I've had over the years, I've never actually bought a foldable given I'm a certified tech addict!

I've held them and thought they looked pretty cool but I just don't see a use case for them, I speak for myself of course. The Fold 7 does intrigue me for some strange reason but I have resisted.

Maybe one day but for now the old slab phone is more than good enough for me.

Highly suggest giving it a month if you haven't used foldables before. I put my SIM right back in my Ultra after 2 days and then again for a week during my first month. Then it finally clicked that I love using it. Just had to get over the adjustment period.

I was the same until I got the OG Pixel Fold & then the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and then the Z Fold 6...

The original Pixel Fold IMO was one of the best. It's size was superb

The 9 Pro Fold was an amazing phone and with a great camera, same with the Z Fold 6...

But I started a new contract extension with Meta and one of the authentication tools I needed was iOS only, so went back to the 16 Pro Max...

The 17PM does not float my boat at all; but now I'm no longer with Meta I've moved back to Samsung and the S25U but I should have gone for the Fold 7... Which is what I've done this evening.

Just the usability of the inner screen for what I mentioned above wins it for me. Having a mini laptop so to speak that's also my phone with both business and personal numbers on it just makes my life more simple...

Z Fold 7 landed with me this morning; nothing nicer than opening a fully sealed new phone (or Mac/iPad etc) 😂

All transferred across from my S25U (which sold last night); Spigen screen protector installed and it's currently in the Enzo Aramid case

Looking forward to getting properly acquainted with this device; for now, it's been smooth sailing
