That’s why i said I’m willing to see what they do, there have already been reports that Apple’s foldable will have a less visible crease than Samsung. Maybe they have found a way to increase durability. I’m not sold on foldables no matter whom makes them, but I’m willing to wait and see what Apple does, I would need to sold on it even by Apple.
The reports of the foldable having less visible crease is going to be because Samsung also is going to have less crease next year. I'm sure there's a little bit of a collaboration going on in here and Apple just waited for the right time to release theirs now that the foldables have matured.

I've only used the spen on my S25 Ultra a few times when signing documents. But really, I could use my finger or any stylus for that.

He went on to clarify what that change means as well ...

Like on my s24U I have only really used s-pen as a fidget clicker lol. For me Magsafe/proper qi2 implementation would be more useful
I'm actually not even a big magsafe guy. Always thought it was overrated even when I was on iPhone. For me, my top 2 things are camera and battery. If they can show ample improvements in both categories, then I'll upgrade from my S25 Ultra. Otherwise, the 25 is a pretty perfect device. I do think they will improve on those areas though based on the leaks so far.

I wasn’t a big MagSafe guy as well… but once you get into it. There’s so many use cases given the accessories available for it and convenient to use.

For me, I don’t really use MagSafe for charging… I use it as a kickstand along with a better way to hold my Galaxy Fold.

The one thing that would interest me is a really good magsafe battery pack, not the one that Apple had that would charge your battery 20% and then die, haha.

Only thing I liked about that Apple battery pack… they gave users the percentage of it in the battery widget. I wish more battery packs are capable of doing that.

But I do like that Anker nano battery pack… could see myself buying that some time this year.

For that you would need wired charging as wireless is so inefficient.

I use magsafe for charging as GF has an iPhone 14 pro so it's as universal as you can get for charging our phones. I can live without it, but it's nice to have

Anker has some good battery packs definitely way to go if not in a rush. I like to charge wired though when need that bump quickly.

Same here.

So far nothing compelling for me to even consider upgrading from S25u. Camera lenses and battery life have exceeded my expectations as have most other features.

Only poked around with the S-Pen a few times and would not miss it.

Wireless charging isn't for me either. It heats up and cooks the device far more than when cable attached.

Hadn't tested my theory yet but if you use a slower charging brick the heat drops significantly. There are lots of 15w bricks out there which might do the job well. Also I believe Samsung has wireless charging pads with built-in coolers

Apparently Samsung’s justification on both getting rid of the Plus model and the S-Pen is that in both cases only a minority of consumers cared about them so they could both be dropped. The Plus model was by far the worst selling of the lineup, and only a minority of people ever used the S-pen. When I had Note phones I would use the pen the first day and after that never again. With the S26 Ultra getting thinner and lighter again, then that’s my kind of device, and if that means dropping the S-Pen so be it.

I’m not convinced that replacing the Plus model with the Edge is going to gain them many more sales. I think it will just drive sales to the Pro model and the Ultra. Unless the S26 Edge offers more of a compelling package than the S25 Edge.

I just think this whole "Thin phone" era is dumb. The Fold 7 is the only device that really makes sense, but even with that, I'd be fine if it was just a smidge thicker to allow for more battery.

^^^^This^^^ I wouldn't even mind a thicker S26 ultra that gets rid of the camera bump while adding a bigger battery.

Agreed. I value it being a little narrower than the thickness or lightness of the device. Never had an issue with the weight, but my short stubby fingers like the Z Fold 7 and the 9a more than the 9 Pro XL and S25U that just aggravate my "gamer's thumb."

I think we’re all missing the point of the rumored ‘Air’ model. Will it lead to a bump in iPhone sales? Maybe—it won’t do worse than the Plus models which have the lowest sales numbers of any of the iPhones. What it more likely represents is Apple testing its capabilities for a very thin chassis, both in manufacturing and durability—one that is needed for a foldable device. ;)
